Great site. Beautiful lake. Each access to the hike up the volcano. Good bathrooms. The only issue was that some of the smaller bathrooms were locked. Thank you National Parks!

Butte Lake is a beautiful place. The campground is small but the facilities had been renovated and the campground had potable water. Unfortunately the sites are very small and have zero privacy. Two sites are squeezed into each loop that would normally only be one campsite. I went during a particularly dry time of the season and dust was everywhere. The main road through the campground isn’t paved so every time a car drove through everything got coated in dust. The rangers came through making sure the fire ban was enforced and I appreciated that. Overall, I probably will go back but after some rain and careful site selection.

Nice primitive campground. It was nice to unplug for 4 days. It is amaxing to us that so many people drive to the lake

I went on the week days and man, it was so quiet! They had clean bathrooms and basically had the whole site to myself! The only thing, is that 6 mi dirt road is a beast, buuuuuut it is worth it!!!

The washboard road was cruel for the travel trailer. Other regulars say that's normal. Even if the center was clean it would make a difference as there is little traffic.

Beautiful location just prepare for the 6 mi dirt road but the cider cone hike was our favorite.

This is such a beautiful campsite! It is very clean and right near the Butte Lake. It was awesome that there are multiple hiking spots that are so close to the campsite, so you do not have to drive. The bathrooms are well maintained and the park rangers were on it with the trash! My only complaint is the drive into the campsite; the gravel was very rigid, so recommend airing down your tires. We will be back for sure!!

We were in Space 5 on Loop B. Great spot. Really nice camp. Bathrooms are cleaned and well maintained. Several great hikes right from the campground. It’s peaceful and beautiful. No cell service, another great bonus.

Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
