The campground is small and the sites are close together. We did not feel like we had much privacy. That being said, the campground was very clean and we enjoyed our weekend tent camping. There was a lot of people using amplified music which was very annoying, but the host did tell some loud people partying to quiet down which we greatly appreciated.

If you want to escape from the world for a bit then this is the place. The sites are not right on top of each other and the camp host does an outstanding job.

The Oak Grove campground is well-maintained, with pleasant sites surrounded by trees and not too close to neighboring sites. I was grateful to have the camp host keeping an eye on things. I think this made a difference in keeping the atmosphere quiet and enjoyable for everyone staying there (though I give the campers themselves credit for this too). I've been to other campgrounds with no host, and one group near us was drinking, blaring music, and generally acting like they owned the place *all night*. I hope the Forest Service can come up with a strategy to manage that kind of problem, but it was not an issue at Oak Grove when I was there. Oak Grove is also conveniently located not far away from Warner Springs, Mt. Palomar, and some wineries.
