Our experience at Pinnacles Campground was very disappointing. The biggest issue was the raccoons as soon as the sun went down. Our campsite—and several of our neighbors’ campsites—were completely overrun. There were at least seven raccoons around our campsite alone, even though we didn’t have food left out.
These raccoons were incredibly bold and completely unafraid of people. They climbed right onto our picnic table while we were still sitting there eating, making it impossible to enjoy dinner or relax at our campsite. It felt unsafe and stressful the entire evening.
There was also very little shade at our campsite, making the daytime heat uncomfortable. Ultimately, the raccoon problem was so bad that we packed up and left within 16 hours of arriving and moved to a private campground instead. It was disappointing to cut our trip short, but we no longer felt comfortable staying.
Unless the campground takes serious action to address the aggressive raccoon problem, I would not camp here again. It’s not worth it.

Had a wonderful time at Pinnacles. Site 65 was wonderfully shaded and backed up to the creek. Felt very private. Saw lots of wildlife.
Toilet area was a short walk away. I will mention that the toilet area was a collection of port-o-potties not a physical building and no showers. That was unexpected but they were well maintained and cleaned. Looked like a service came twice a week to maintain them (which might be unpleasant if you’re there on a clean up day).
The little camp store and park store are the only ones for this side of the park. Parking is very limited in the park areas and fills up early. When parking is full they close the road. By 10am we had to go back to the campground til things cleared up which was fine. We went in the early evening to see sites and as we arent climbers or serious hikers that worked well for us.
Lots of good birding from the campground. Raccoon made a nightly appearance.

Always a great stay, the staff at check in are so kind. They gave us all the insight on what was going on in the park and how to get to our campsite. The campsite was excellent and loved the ability to see the stars at night, we will be back soon!

Very satisfied with our campsite, running-water bathrooms, FREE showers (which was such a luxury), and the pool.
We were there mid-july, so it was VERY hot and our kids found the pool very refreshing.
Additionally, the park store staff was helpful and friendly.

With all of the real estate available, why are the campground spaces right on top of one another? Despite handouts telling campers not to use lights at night during dark sky, neighbors tent had bright string lights around it.

The pool closed at 5:30pm and it was still blazing hot out! We arrived at checkin time and set up our camp site. Then went to use the pool only to find it closed! Very frustrating! Otherwise, we had a good stay!

General
- Generators are not allowed at any time in any site.
- Tent/RV Sites: 6 people, 3 tents and 2 vehicles or one vehicle and one trailer or RV/Motor home. Group sites: 20 people, 5 vehicles max. No RV’s, motorhomes or trailers allowed. Any self-contained vehicle designed for sleeping is considered an RV/Motor home. Extra vehicles MUST be left in the overnight parking lot. A tow vehicle plus a trailer counts as two vehicles. Social Trails: Avoid walking through other campsites, creek beds, and closed areas.Lighting: Party lights, disco lights, Christmas lights, travel trailer parking lights, any decorative lighting must be turned off starting at 10:00pm and ending at 6:00amParking: All vehicles and bicycles must stay on paved surfaces. Where parking pads are provided, vehicles must be parked with all wheels on the pad and may not extend into the traffic lane or into the campsite. All vehicles must be parked at thier respective campsites in front of the parking stops. Moving parking stops, driving beyond them or parking in another area/site will result in a ticket from NPS. If your vehicle does not fit in your site you MUST park it in the overflow parking area bhiend the store. Wastewater: carry to toilets for disposal. Washing dishes/clothing and brushing teeth at water spigots is prohibited.
- RV Sites: have 120v/ 30-amp service; EV CHARGING IS PROHITIED AT RV SITES, An EV charger is located by the store. Tent and group sites have no hook-ups. Generators are not allowed at any time in any site.
- Swimming pool: is open 4/1 to 10/31, weather permitting. No lifeguard on duty.
- Pets: allowed on leash in the campground but not on hiking trails. NEVER leave unattended.
- Wi-Fi: Guests receive 30 minutes of complimentary Wi-Fi. Extended access is available for purchase. Wi-Fi use is optional and not included in the nightly rate.
- Dump station: is available for registered guests.
- Trees: All trees, even when healthy and well-maintained, can pose a natural hazard of falling limbs. Visitors assume responsibility for any property damage, injury or other circumstances that may result from these hazards.
- Lost, Stolen or Damaged Property: Pinnacles Recreation Company is not responsible for loss or to property due to fire, theft, accident or any other cause.

- During peak visitation periods, access to the campground through the East Entrance station may be restricted. Delays can be expected due to high traffic volumes and parking reaching capacity. We advise planning accordingly to avoid prolonged wait times. Pinnacles experiences extremely high visitation on weekends, holidays, and during favorable weather, especially in the spring. Expect long lines and delays [or possible restrictions especially] between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm.
- Restrooms (Loop C) Loop C does not have flush restroom buildings. Portable toilets are located in Loop C. Flush toilets and sinks are available in nearby Loop B and Loop G.
