Pinnacles Campground

This is a great campground! A lot of the sites for tent camping have ample shade. The bathrooms near the C loop are just porta-pottys, but they were in good condition and clean. It was nice and quiet during the quiet hours too. There is a great shuttle that runs from the campground, to Bear Gulch, where there are multiple trail-heads. This was my second stay at the Pinnacles campground, and it was just as nice as the first time.

Great hidden National Park. Spent the weekend hiking, looking for condors and caves were awesome.

Great campground and landscape

Nice National Park with trails, caves and condors. Free hot showers and clean bathrooms. Wifi is $7 for 7 days and works in site #2A.
Campsite 2A has a big area for tents. Parking space is not leveled for RVs and is shared with the next site. Bear locker is too small for a medium cooler. No nearby water spigot or drainage for doing dishes.

Nice store with basic supplies, groceries, and drinks. No alcoholic beverages.
Shuttle only runs on the weekends so if you don't have transportation to Bear Gulch or Old Pinnacles Parking, you're in for a 2-mile hike before you start hiking the main trails.
The Bear Gulch caves are dark (need flashlight), the trail is slippery, steep and narrow in places.
The High Peaks trail has outstanding views but is steep and narrow near the top. A bit challenging for the not so fit or elderly.

I had a lovely site at the very back of the campground, far away from the noise and bustle. It was a bit of a trek to the bathroom, but otherwise wonderfully peaceful and relaxing. The general store has great merchandise, both for camping and souvenirs. Oh, and FREE HOT SHOWERS in the campground! That was a much-appreciated perk after sweating my brains out under the hot sun on the trial all day!

We were in site 55- it was nice and shady and in a quieter part of the campground. A lot of spaces are very open and exposed so make sure to pick the right one. Bathrooms were clean, showers were also clean (and free!), although the water is solar heated so we ended up with not-very warm water on an overcast day. The camp store is small but stocked with essentials, with the exception of beer and wine. The group sites were full of middle schoolers and they were LOUD but quieted down by 9:30 every night. Overall, a lovely experience with a low-key crowd of campers that respected each other's space and the beautiful surroundings.

Trails were well marked and well maintained. Campsite had a variety of sites and was clean.

Hiking is great here. Some trails listed as easy should really be listed as moderate to strenuous. Ask around before you go. If its cold doubtful to see Condors. The actual campground could use more showers and more hot water. It would be great if someone would please install some hooks in the ladies restrooms in the campgrounds so when we go to wash faces/ brush teeth/ clean up children, etc, we dont have to juggle holding stuff as one cannot use the floor.

This was quite a bit more expensive than a typical NP campground due to private ownership, so I expected nicer facilities. Bathroom cleanliness was okay but not great. The showers are free despite their pre arrival email confusion. Firewood was $20 so we skipped doing one. Most disappointing was the pool being closed and still not planning to open for several more weeks, even though the website stated 4/1 open pending weather. There seemed to be a maintenance problem and the whole area was overgrown with weeds. It just didn't look like a priority. Unfortunately it was super hot two of the days we were camping - I'm sure plenty of folks would have loved to get in the pool. This is the main reason we stayed.
