What Guests Are Saying
Spanish Creek Campground offers a beautiful location with great access to a swimming hole and nearby attractions like the Butterfly Valley Botanical Area. Campers appreciate the friendly and helpful hosts, clean facilities, and a peaceful environment, especially in the upper loop with more privacy. However, the loud trains nearby can be a significant drawback for those sensitive to noise, and some facilities, like restrooms, could use more frequent maintenance.

Spacious sites, a lovely creek, and trains (which I loved)
Spanish Creek Campground, just outside Quincy, was a great stay. The sites are spacious and well spread out, so you're not crammed in or on top of your neighbors. Spanish Creek runs along the bottom of the campground, which is a lovely backdrop. The hosts were friendly and the whole place was very clean.
One thing to know before you book: a railroad runs right through, and trains pass three or four times a night. They're long and they're loud. It didn't bother me at all because I like trains, but if you're a light sleeper, bring earplugs or plan around it.
Overall, a beautiful, well-kept campground, and I'd happily come back.

Such a beautiful campsite! Definitely recommend the spots by the river. Expect to not have service! Seems like a busy campground, we unfortunately encountered a lot of trash which was super unfortunate. They provide tons of trash cans, so do your part and pick up the trash. Things to do: go mountain biking!!! Expect to hear the train pass through at least 4-5 times during the night. Visited in sept and still deep slow moving water in the creek!

Love this campground. Very basic amenities, but everything is clean, and the camp host is always very helpful. We will be back.

Not recommended. Lots of train and highway noise.

The campground is in a great location and has a really good swing hole. Unfortunately, the trains keep you up all night. I suggest they use for this site.

Host was great and very helpful! Easy check in and out everyone was very friendly and the creek to swim was amazing and kept us cool! Only bad thing about this site is the occasional smell from the restroom close by

Lovely little campground, and not too crowded when I was there. The camp host was nice and helpful. Great place to stay if you're looking to explore the nearby Butterfly Valley Botanical Area. As others have mentioned, the trains are quite loud and operate intermittently at all hours. If you're sensitive to noise, bring earplugs or look elsewhere.

The campsites are clean and nice. Spanish creek was lovely and crowded with day use tourists. However the continuous train schedule was really nerve wracking. The tracks are right above the creek and the sound of them braking was horrendous. It echoed through the canyon all night. We left 2 days early because we couldn’t get any sleep. It was a nice visit but I would not recommend if you are seeking R & R.

We started with sites 5 and 7 which were on the upper part of the campground you have to walk down a hill to get to the water so the next day we switched to 16 and 17 close to the water. Campground is nice we enjoyed it.
