What Guests Are Saying
Sycamore Grove Campground offers a beautiful, well-maintained setting with green grass, spacious sites, and clean bathrooms, including coin-operated showers. Many guests appreciate the peaceful atmosphere and friendly camp hosts, making it a great stop for travelers. However, some concerns were raised about noisy campers, the condition of pit toilets, and occasional issues with camp host interactions. Overall, it's considered a lovely place to relax and enjoy nature, especially for short stays.

I made the reservation at Recreation.gov the day before, but when I got to the campground my campsite was marked open. I went to the hosts campsite and planned to ask him or her about my reservation. But there was a sign on his door saying this was his day off. So I did not knock. I went back to the campsite that i had reserved and set up my trailer. My concern about this is that if I had not gotten to the campground early, maybe someone else would have attempt to reserve the site. Then if that happened, there could have been a conflict.

Beautiful campground with lovely mature trees! Convenient location. Great host.
Unfortunately, the outdoor lights on the bathroom are so bright and have such a long reach that one can read at one's campsite. We had to strategically place our tent in the shadow of a tree to dodge the brightness. Not the experience I'm seeking when camping. We actually had just been in a big city with neighborhoods that had Dark Skies ordinances, so we had much darker skies in the urban area than at the campground!
It would help a lot to put shrouds over the fixtures so the light is cast downwards, not up and out. Owls and migrating birds would surely appreciate this as well.

Clean, quiet, lots of trails.
But I slept in other people's camp smoke!

Barking dogs ruined out camping experience. No quiet time enforcement.

Same day online reservation worked great. Restrooms looked like they don’t get cleaned very often.

This park has the potential to be really nice, but it looks like no one is maintaining it. The site indicated as the camp host site was cluttered with a ton of junk and was feeding a very large number of (feral) cats.
