We have camped here for years. We had someone pull in around 7 pm playing incredibly loud music until way past quiet hours, 11 pm. The hosts were told and complaints were made. Nothing happened. The next morning around 6:30 I was woken from a sound sleep to the same. Went to our hosts camper, no answer.
Went to talk to the people, some were already there asking them to be respectful, the guy was swearing loudly at the people calling them filthy names. An elderly lady came up, took the guys speaker and walked off , telling him “it will be at the front entry”. The hosts should have intervened as this could have turned terrible. I hope the staff had a meeting and will not allow this type of behavior in the future, it interrupted the quiet enjoyment of every camper within 20 sites!

A drive out to the Marina and Falls is well worth the time, however, road is very narrow and probably best to take a smaller vehicle. Also the information center on the way in is also a must see with the walking trails and underground glass enclosure to view the fish.

Staff was great. Location was awesome. Little to no phone reception but that’s the whole point!

We always have a great time at Fallen Leaf Lake…..kayaking, hiking or just sitting enjoying the trees in our campsite. The camp hosts do a good job with maintaining the campground and speaking to campers who are not keeping a tidy campsite to prevent bear activity.

The location, unbeatable. Amenities, totally above standard (clean bathrooms, campground in great shape, etc). Both lakes (Fallen Leak & Tahoe) are extremely close and gorgeous.
Reason for 4 stars rather than 5? The staff’s attitude. There were a couple of folks that were helpful, but everyone we encountered near the front gate and the little camp store were rude, condescending, and always seemed bothered to even acknowledge people’s questions. We weren’t the only ones. We had folks approach us asking if dogs were allowed at Fallen Leaf Lake because when they asked the staff they just got indirect answers and scoffs. Pretty sure their quote was “the staff here is, unique, right?”
