All the sites are different sizes and some are tiny! Use caution with size needs.

Very nice. One concern was the cleanliness of the bathrooms and showers. Some of the showers were not working. After camping for a week a shower would have been wonderful.

The campsite was near the lake which is a plus. It was a large and spacious site. The parking pavement is getting bad so I would not want to reserve this site again. I saw a large black bear crossing the road early in the morning just after 6:00 AM that was definitely on a mission to find food.
Sadly, the toilets have been replaced with some that are about 6" too low for comfort. It was a shock that this change has occurred. It took some time to adjust to almost being on the floor to use the now very low toilets. This handicaps normal people.

My son and I camped here for two nights over a weekend, and I highly recommend it! There were lots of kids riding around on bikes, giving the campground a friendly, family-oriented atmosphere.
The bathrooms and showers were as clean as you can reasonably expect at a campground and were generally better than average. Our site was large and included a picnic table, fire ring, and BBQ stand, all of which were in good condition.
Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely camp here again!

Bears: If you want to see a bear, book this campground! I saw them 5 times in 48 hours. They’re bold and not very afraid of humans. Had a literal standoff with one on my campsite while my dog was next to me. Lock your car doors, they know how to open them! Saw it with my own eyes.
Campsite: Spacious, lovely, and relatively quiet… unless the bears are roaming around and campers screaming and setting off car alarms.
Location: Short walk to Fallen Leaf Lake. Kiva Beach at Lake Tahoe is dog-friendly (off-leash in parts) and amazing for sunset.
Local campground store with basics available.
Hiking: Mt. Tallac and Eagle Lake were my highlights. Parking at Eagle Lake can be a hassle.
Bathrooms/showers: Bathrooms across the road have showers, but you need tokens from the check-in self-serve machine. They get very busy in the morning. There’s another bathroom farther down the road, but no showers, which explains why the other ones were so busy.
Lake conditions: Fallen Leaf can get windy and choppy surprisingly early in the day.
T-Mobile: Texts occasionally went through, but browsing and app use were not working.
Overall: Beautiful campground, great location, spacious sites. Just be prepared to share the neighborhood with some very confident bears.
For me, I'm knocking off a star just because I couldn't enjoy my solo cooking over the campfire due to being afraid of bears coming to steal the food. I got so paranoid and constantly kept looking over my shoulder and that was not enjoyable. I'd probably return with a group but I don't think I'd do it solo again, at least not for now.
