What Guests Are Saying
Cottonwood Campground offers a stunning location for stargazing and has clean, well-maintained restroom facilities with running water. Many visitors enjoyed the peaceful, quiet atmosphere and nearby hiking trails, making it a great spot for outdoor activities. Some challenges included noise from nearby restrooms, close campsites, and limited parking options, but overall, guests had a positive experience and expressed a desire to return.

WE would have appreciated a light on the bathroom which was difficult to find in the dark, and a more level site.
We loved the desert and trails.

A good campground with clean restrooms and hand soap provided (but nothing to dry hands with). Access is fairly handy off Interstate 10. Not nearly as picturesque as other JTNP campgrounds, but site availability is much better. Glad to have the dump station for a clean getaway. There are very nice hiking opportunities leaving from Cottonwood Spring. Will likely stay here again mainly due to the good location for easy access to a National Park campground.

Great campground! Everything went well. Bathroom has no lights at night, make sure you bring a flashlight!

On a 1,100 mi road trip from Northern California we camped 2 nights in the Cottonwood campground in our RV. On the 2nd day I took the interesting Cottonwood Spring Nature Trail. Along the way I encountered 2 friendly Lithuanians who were visiting this country. We hiked together to Mastodon Peak and the spring and I learned a lot from them about Lithuania and lasers (their professional expertise). It was a great international encounter and we all learned a lot about the area from the posted signs and marveled at the incredible rock formations.

Not all campsites have good tent spots. 3 hikes right out of campground. Water is a treat in JT.

Cottonwood was great except for the size of the site with take some work to get into but all in all it was worth it. The weather was not the best but that as nothing to do with the campground were the facilities are good and clean.
