Cottonwood Campground offers a stunning location for stargazing and has clean, well-maintained restroom facilities with running water. Many visitors enjoyed the peaceful, quiet atmosphere and nearby hiking trails, making it a great spot for outdoor activities. Some challenges included noise from nearby restrooms, close campsites, and limited parking options, but overall, guests had a positive experience and expressed a desire to return.

We were in A04, which was not quite level, but we managed with our leveling blocks by parking diagonally along the downhill side. The sign on the women's restroom said to keep the door closed, but the door would not close and needed to be propped shut with a rock (not something you could do from inside). I hope the maintenance budget does not get so slashed that repairs will not be possible! We stayed on a weeknight in the last week of May, and there were maybe 8-10 other sites occupied. There was a school crowd at the group site and they were a bit loud, and climbing on top of the shade structure and conversing qipuite loudly, but were not noisy at night. No host was at the host site, but the paper and soap were well stocked in the restroom.

Campsite is was clean and perfect for stargazing. Bathroom at campsite has flushable toilets and running water sinks with paper towels. There is no shade so just be mindful of this . There is a water spigot for potable water across the bathrooms. I did hear coyotes and we did leave by accident some leftover pasta they they got ahold of so just be mindful of food. There was no trash can on the tent site but there are big dumpsters and there’s no food( bear) box.

I have used this campsite several times, but I think it is the best campsite in terms of convenience.
I have good memories from the last 2-night, 3-day camping trip as well.

Place was awesome, got to hike straight out of our campsite because there were trails that connected directly behind our tent. Place was very quiet, clean water, plenty of space to park. A good table and plenty of room for tents

The campground and restrooms were clean and in good condition. The dark sky allowed for some great sky viewing.
