I had spot 105 and was slightly rough to find it but I did! It wasn’t very private at all but the one wall of rocks nearby helped a bit. Parked cars were about 15 ft away and campsite neighbors had to walk past me to reach their cars/sites. However, I very much enjoyed my stay! This was the only site open and I was just excited to camp in JT for the first time after wanting to forever. Pit toilet and trash receptacles were nearby. Big rocks also nearby, nice for sunset and sunrise views. A little noise from the road a ways off but nothing crazy at all. Excellent stargazing! Would recommend if there’s not a more private site open.

Jumble Rocks Has to be one of the best campgrounds in the country. So many great sites tucked in the rocks with the dessert carpeted with yellow flowers!

You canceled. Then you opened. Then you canceled again. Opened again. Canceled, opened. At your instruction, did not go. No refunds. What the F.

We did not get to stay at Jumbo Rocks due to the shutdown...we ended up staying on some private property on the edge of Joshua Tree instead. Trying to get a refund was NOT easy...think we ended up with a partial refund for 1 stay. Ridiculous...just another indicator of how dysfunctional this nation is right now. So sad...

You closed the campground. No refund. Then asked me to rate the experience. I can only answer, poor.

As this was my first time camping, the experience at Joshua Tree was amazing. The Jumbo Rocks were close to town out the west entrance when additional supplies were needed. The moon rise over the rocks were stunning, my particular spot was close to the bathroom which were stocked with toilet paper and clean!! Before the first night was over, I was saying "next time...". I would camp here again especially during a full moon.
Skull rock and heart rock (the only two place I truly visited) were challenging enough hikes for my level and popular destinations for others that were around us. The neighbors were helpful and nice with generosity. I would also recommend driving around the park (with the windows down) and looking at the different scenery. It's other worldly.
Water, even in October, is necessary. 13 liters for two days is sufficient, use frozen electrolyte drinks as ice, and bring layers for the night time as it gets quite chilly, bug spray, sun block, and hand sanitizer.
