Our campsite was nice, and the views were great; the only complaint was the noise and light from the neighbors. The campsite right next to ours had 3 cars with 6 adults and 3 kids on ONE campsite. They were up until 2 am being loud and inconsiderate of others. I had to tell them to turn off the music and lower their voices at a certain point. I would recommend getting a different site that is more secluded if possible.

It would be great if there were a bit more information about each site, like the number of vehicles allowed and the campsite size.

We had a wonderful time at Jumbo Rocks campground. Everything was good; the reservations, the spot between the boulders, the walks we took (in the early morning because it was very hot later in the day). The trail were natural, but also very good to follow. Thanks very much for the park and this campground.

Campground 62 was a great spot. The only problem was there was a rented cruise America RV across from us and the owners did not realize that they should turn off their engine. I did end up going to ask them to turn their engine off. They seemed like they were from Europe and just didn’t know any better. I haven’t camped next to RVs so I don’t know what the protocol is, but it seems like they should be made aware not to leave their engine running for hours.

This camping is beautiful !! It was super nice seeing the the rocks, an amazing sky full of star and people making fire. I would definitely go back

Super cool campground. They nestle the camping sites in between cool rock formations. If you want a good hike, do Ryan Mountain trail up to see the sunset. It’s steep but worth the views.

Good camping. We got a sunny site but we didn't stay for a daytime, so it was okay. Kids loved rocks formations and many rabbits around there. Just before living we saw a rattlesnake crossing the road. It didn't care about us and followed its own direction but definitely you need to be aware about them.

Beautiful campsite nestled in among the iconic large boulder piles of Joshua Tree NP. Quite large and spacious campground but also busy. Camped in a non-loop site along the main road and it was relatively private. Lots of opportunity to explore in surrounding desert lands, great sunsets but fewer Joshua trees in this area. No cell service around campground, making it a great spot for an escape.

General
- Download the NPS app prior to visiting the park – trail maps and more!
- Reservations are required year round and can be made the same day or up to 6 months in advance.
- A no-show customer is one who does not arrive at a campground and does not cancel the reservation by check-out (noon) time on the day after the scheduled arrival date. Staff will hold a campsite until check-out time (noon) on the day following the arrival date.
- The park allows six people, two vehicles and three tents per site, however, some sites are small and may not accommodate the maximum number of people and vehicles. See Site Details for specifics. There is no overflow parking. Trailers count as a vehicle.
- Please call 760-367-5554 for information.
- $30 per vehicle entrance fee is in addition to camping fee.
- There are no electric, water or sewer hook-ups available at individual campsites; nor is a dump station located nearby. Potable water is available at the Oasis Visitor Center, 11 miles away.
- Generator use is permitted only from 7–9 am, noon–2 pm, and 5–7 pm.
- Pets are not allowed on trails but are welcome in the campground, on any dirt road or within 100 feet of any road. Pets must be on a leash no more than 6 feet long at all times. Pets may not be left unattended or tied to an object; leaving pets in unattended vehicles is strongly discouraged – especially on warm days.
- Don’t Move Firewood: Prevent the spread of tree-killing pests by obtaining firewood near the park and burning it on-site, and do not use park vegetation, living or dead, for fuel.
- All organized events require a special use permit and must be held in designated areas; contact the Special Park Use Coordinator, jeannie_wilson@nps.gov.
- Cancelling a Reservation: Customers may cancel their reservation prior to arrival both on-line and through the call center. A $10 service fee will be withheld from any refund for a cancellation. Depending on when you cancel in relation to your arrival day, it may be considered a late cancellation. Late Cancellation Fees: A customer who cancels a reservation the day before or on the day of arrival will pay a $10.00 service fee AND forfeit the first night's use fee (not to exceed the total paid for the original reservation). Cancellations for a one-night reservation will forfeit the entire amount paid and will not be subject to an additional service fee.
- STOP THE SPREAD OF INVASIVE SPECIES. Remove plants, seeds, animals, and mud from boots, gear, pets, and vehicles. Clean your gear before entering and leaving the recreation site. Stay on designated roads and trails, and follow local guidelines for firewood. For more information visit the National Invasive Species Information Center.
- FIRE BAN fire restriction are currently in effect that prohibit charcoal fires, wood-burning fires, and charcoal grills. NO Fires! Only gas or propane stoves are permitted. Starting June 15, ending October 1st of every year.
