Reset is a meditative oasis in the desert. Perfect for relaxation and centering oneself while exploring Joshua tree. The mountain view outside my window was great. My friend couldn't stop saying how much they loved the showers. Very nice room. Staff were helpful and polite. Definitely coming back here again.

Very cool place in the desert! Was worried about staying in an old hotel / house, but found this brand new place. Loved being able to go from heated pool to hot tub to sauna (skipped the cold plunge!) in the middle of winter! Also, the room was very comfortable and the views were fantastic. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. Already telling friends about it.

Disappointing Experience at Rest Hotel, Joshua Tree
We were really looking forward to a relaxing stay at Rest Hotel in Joshua Tree, but unfortunately, our experience was not pleasant.
The front desk girl’s attitude was very disappointing. The receptionist was rude, didn’t communicate properly with guests, and kept making facial expressions as she was annoyed by us. It didn’t feel welcoming at all, which is the first impression you get when arriving at a hotel.
The room itself was clean, which we appreciated. However, the Queen room had absolutely no view. Considering how much we paid, we expected both comfort and a nice desert view — especially in a place like Joshua Tree. The room also lacked basic comfort features. There was no couch or sitting area to relax, just a bed and a single chair, which felt very minimal for the price.
The café was also disappointing. They only had four food options available, which is very limited. We ended up ordering Uber Eats every time because there weren’t enough choices.
Overall, it was not worth the money we spent. We expected a much better experience for the price.

My birthday weekend at REST was truly amazing.
The location, views, pool, and amenities were exceptional everything felt clean, intentional, and thoughtfully designed. From the plush towels and robes to the overall layout, it genuinely felt like a true wellness experience where every detail had been considered.
What made the experience most memorable, though, was the staff. They went above and beyond to make our stay feel special. Cheryl, in particular, was an absolute angel she consistently checked in, even noticing us by the pool, and made sure everything felt just right. Her care and presence made such a difference.
While they are still working through some operational details which is completely understandable for a newer hotel the level of hospitality was outstanding and far exceeded expectations.
I can’t wait to return, and I’ve already shared my experience with friends and family. The warmth, thoughtfulness, and genuine care from the staff truly set this place apart.

stayed in a mountain view room in Jan 2026. Pool and hot tub are great. good bed and nice modern bathroom. room heater worked well. However there are serious design issues that take away from what could be. Bed is placed against the window so person on inside has to climb over person on outside to get off bed. No reading lights at head of bed, no side table for person on inside of bed.
Bathroom does not have a place to hang face towels nor do they provide tissues.
Minimum breakfast selections and seating is outside. not ideal in January!
Room had spectacle private outside seating area with mountain view and fire pit. Wood costs $15/bundle. Was looking forward to nighttime view of the sky. However lights from the nearby Casino are a distraction as are the hotel lights from their garden path . Not sure why the hotel did not choose to use downward lighting in this area.
Hotel seems to be a work in progress. Only opened for 6 months and at this stage Great concept, poor execution
