What Guests Are Saying

Acorn Campground is well-maintained with clean bathrooms and friendly park staff, making it a great spot for families and group camping. Visitors appreciate the beautiful lake views, flat campsites, and enjoyable activities such as fishing and paddleboarding. However, some have noted issues with noise levels, restroom maintenance, and the reservation system, which can lead to underused spots.

Site 132 is sunny all day, and walking to the water is down a small decline slope. Water spot is nice and clean, with rocky entrance. The site was clean and well kept.

Nice place, beautiful view and clean bathroom! All parked the camping sites!
One thing that detracted from the experience was a group of young guys nearby who disregarded the rule requiring quiet after 10 PM; they partied for three consecutive nights—wrapping up at 1 AM the first two nights and not until 3 AM on the last—without any staff intervening. I didn't file a complaint against them, though; I figured they were likely high schoolers or recent college graduates out celebrating.

Great camp ground. Typical for the area as far as lack of shade. Showers and bathrooms pretty decent. Camp sites that are fairly close to the water and the staff are friendly.

The overall experience was a good one. The water is nice to get away from the heat during the day.

Would recommend being alert of others and their pets. While on our trip, our dog was viciously attacked by another dog who was not restrained.

It was fun we were by the bathroom and water. We were kinda far from the lake but it’s walkable we walked and drove closer to get in the water. The bathrooms got cleaned often but it was a lot of bugs and frogs. The shower was free and had a nice bench and hooks to hang ur clothes. I would recommend bringing hand soap.

4

Everything was great overall, but the 10 p.m. gate closure is extremely inconvenient. We got stuck in traffic and arrived a little late, so we had to park outside and carry all of our camping gear to the site in the dark. I’ve never encountered this rule at other campgrounds, and they seem to operate perfectly well without it. It’s a frustrating and unnecessary policy that should be reconsidered.
