I was there on the weekend. The campground was clean and uncluttered. It was nice to see the fallen trees taken care of. I was happy to see a camp host giving out passes and manning the entrance booth. It was nice to see the Park Rangers drive by regularly. The campers were generally okay, with some loud music for a little while, but it was turned down as it got dark. Generally, everyone respected everyone's space.
I really wish they would consider installing a bathhouse with showers in the future.

We love this campsite. It’s close to the water for our boat. It’s nice and big for our Trailer and our truck. Everything fits. We have space for our dog. It has plenty of shade. We really enjoyed our stay. Looking forward to next year. Same campsite a longer stay.

Great place with a nice lake and clean bathrooms. It is a local hangout on weekends. They tend to party till midnight or 2am, it can get pretty loud. Be prepared

We had a wonderful camping experience at Oak Knoll Campground. The campground offers great access to the water, making it perfect for kids to play along the shoreline. The lake is ideal for inflatable rafts, and there were plenty of people enjoying kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, boating, and swimming. Stores nearby Valley Springs pretty much had lot of camping stuff if you forget anything.
The only downside was that during the Labor Day weekend, a very large group of campers near our site was extremely loud, which was frustrating at times. Aside from that, it was a great place to camp and enjoy the lake.

We reserved two sites next to each other. Once arrived site 41 was not clearly defined, my husband asked the camp host and the Sheriff about how he planned to setup the trailer prior to doing so, and neither had an issue. Later that night in the dark the Rangers show up to say we were not set up in the designated camping spot and demanded he move the trailer. The designated parking spot is grossly advertised as a trailer site. It is not, it is gravel and not paved like the other sites and is no different then pulling off the side of the highway. It was no where near level, and in order to get off the road your door either opened to the road or into their boundary blocks that are so huge the trailer step wouldn't unfold. The misadvertisement of the site was one issue and the way our families were treated by the two rangers was another issue. Our only option was to move or leave, their callous, rude, pushy attitudes almost drove us to leaving, even though we had packed and planned to be there for the weekend with our families, boats and trailers. Hogan used to be one of our favored spots, but because of the way we were treated by the two female rangers on staff our friends and family will not be back for boating or camping!

Nice camping site, no shade besides gazebo over the bench. Not too far from the water spigot and very close to the restroom.
