This site is wonderful. Expect cooler weather. We had snow at this site in May. Marble caves hike is exciting although the trail is not particularly well maintained after the burn with many windfalls in places and a few washouts. The Lilac is beautiful like always.

The cabin was very clean and the kitchen had plenty of silverware and dishes for me as a solo traveler. The electric stove had 3 working burners and the oven was functioning. A microwave was nice to have. And having hot water was great for washing dishes. The only bathroom is outside the kitchen but does have a flush toilet, but you must go out the back door onto the porch to access it.
The place is heated with electric space heaters, one of which was a bit noisy but even at 32 degrees F, it was easy to keep the place warm. The upstairs has three double beds and the one I chose was close to the stream/creek that runs nearby.
The reason for only 4 stars is the location. The gravel road is the entrance to a developing residential area. Several houses are under construction and as a result there is traffic going right past the cabin during the day. As mentioned before, Highway 36 runs very close by and the lights of vehicles at night is a bit distracting. Logging trucks travel the road at all hours and the sound of trucks going across the bridge is very loud day and night in the upstairs space. Earplugs might be needed for sensitive folks.

Great little cabin in a beautiful location. No cell service there or anywhere near it for us. We went during a heatwave where it hit 90 during the day but then dropped to 40 at night. There's AC units upstairs, but we never needed them. Tucked into the trees it stayed cool all day. Portable heaters kept the rooms warm at night and in the chilly mornings. The futon downstairs was very comfortable, and the beds upstairs seemed new and were also very comfortable. The kitchen was clean and well stocked, it was easy to make meals. There's great hiking trails nearby, but just be aware that a lot of forest has been burned in recent years. There's maps and guides in the cabin that are useful for finding a trail. The cabin is 40 minutes from a grocery store, so stock up on your way in. The cabin is next to a well used two lane road through the national forest, so you should expect to see and hear cars on occasion. Across that busy road is a road to a swimming hole and beach. The river was still ice cold in October but it was a nice place to relax. We'll be coming back.

I live near by and I love renting this cabin every few years. It's always a great experience and I could tell that some awesome improvements had been made since my last visit. However the upstairs smelled so badly from the floors being varnished, we got headaches from being upstairs after only a few minutes. The windows upstairs are small and even though some appliances had been installed to help with air circulation, there isn't enough air circulation to ventilate the rooms and reduce the fumes. It is honestly unsafe for anyone to sleep upstairs at this time. To not be able to use the bedrooms was very disappointing, otherwise I'd give the cabin five stars!
Our only other issue was trying to find the lock box with the key for the back door, it took 5 of us to figure that one out.. and the front door locks automatically unless you turn the deadbolt to the unlock position.
The cabin was fully stocked with every dish you could need, even a French press and lots of other coffee making accessories. We slept on the futon couch in the living room which was great, and it seemed that the other two beds were very comfy also.
Even with the issues, I very much appreciate being able to rent this cabin, and I look forward to my next visit.

The cabin was clean and cute. Loved the sound of the creek which is about 30 feet from the cabin. Beds were comfortable. Unfortunately, a fairly recent forest fire burned near the cabin... so most of the surrounding forest is charred. In spite of that we enjoyed this wonderful place.
