Such a nice rustic cabin to decompress from the hustle and bustle of the Bay Area. I live the sounds of nature.

The cabin was great. And had a lot of extra little stuff. Even had a small A/C and fan in the bedroom. Also very close to cool swimming spots.

This was old home weekend, as I had worked from and lived in the cabin for the last season it had been open on the fire crew in 1975.
Looks like the same flooring has held up well. Climbing up the steep and narrow stairs is not as effortless or safe as it used to be.
There was some confusion over whether the lock combo was to be sent with an email response to payment (there were two emails, the second had the combo) or provided by calling the contact phone number. We used to hand out free forest maps and the campground was free across the river.

Forest Glen has changed to only the state highway maintenance office. A huge landslide across the river rearranged the landscape there. No other residents in that part of the valley, just some recreational cabins owned on federal land down the road. Fires have creeped down to near the cabin through dense forests of old-growth fuels too thick to stop the fires anymore. Sediment from logging and road landslides have clogged the salmon spawning beds and pools, so no salmon apparent. There is a new bridge, and Hwy 36 highly upgraded from narrow gravel to an engineered marvel. Pot grows smell like skunk passing Trinity Pines.

Love the Forest Glen Guard Station cabin! It was wonderful for a chilly weekend in November. We did bring an extra space heater; we put it in the bathroom when in use. The place was clean as could be and the kitchen had everything we needed.
