This review is based on my experience with young children in sites 2-3 & 4. The campground is... Rustic. There really doesn't seem to be anything done as far as upkeep in the sites specifically. The bathrooms are clean and the management is nice and responsive but as far as the sites go, they are what they are. It doesnt appear that they are attended to in any way. For example - random large rocks all over the place. It's impossible to walk around here without tripping, dont even attempt it at night without light. Your children will be tripping every few minutes and hopefully not connecting with any of these random rocks. I would think it would be simple to collect them every so often to keep campsites a little more safe. Very large fallen trees through many of the sites and blocking some paths to restrooms. For small children - it is not an ideal campground. The ground cover (dirt) is just loaded with burs and thorns. I had gotten 12 little splinters and thorns out of my little ones hands in a 2 day span. If you dont have children with you then this campsite will do just fine. Also my opionion if you're looking for the best sites... they are all pretty much the same. The loop map gives the illusion that they are all spaced out but they are close to each other and just around 1 small loop. If traveling with others there is no need to buy the double site. Some of the other sites are even closer together than the double. Overall - the flush toilets and access to Jackson Lake directly across the street make this campground nice enough for a short visit but be careful with small children.

Came back again to reserved 6 spots. Our experienced are way better than the first time. Not only the place is amazing, our caretaker is so cool and very accommodating. They have enough place for a big family or for a Friends and family gathering. I will definitively come back again next summer. Shout out to Richard for being so cool with us and being so helpful.

We had a great time tent camping at Mountain Oak. The caretakers were friendly and kept the restrooms clean. The kids enjoyed the lake, which is right across the street. My only complaint is that the campsites get reserved quickly. We were lucky they had a double-site available. Next time, we will reserve our spot months ahead. The Recreation.gov app makes it easy to see which spots are available and gives you plenty of useful information about each campground.
