Table Mountain (Angeles)

This is an absolutely beautiful venue and I am very thankful to have had my wedding here. However, if you have a large wedding/event, you need to plan for parking. Near the venue is a dirt lot that holds approximately 30 cars, then you could reserve as many campsites within the loop to help your parking situation (all which I did). However, this was still not enough and I was not notified of the repercussions until approximately four weeks before the wedding. IF I were aware in an appropriate amount of time, I could have given more specific directions on what my guests should do in my wedding invitations. My guests were literally being threatened to move their vehicles before they get towed minutes before I walked down the aisle. She, the camp host, could have shown us a little grace for the 30 minutes of the ceremony, but she chose to get excited about her power and cause unnecessary stress for me and my guests. Apparently, Mountain High recently took over caring for/maintaining the campground, and thankfully Tyler from Mt. High eventually made his way to the wedding ceremony and was able to calm the camp host down; I believe he asked her to leave. I was finally able to get married, but some of my guests missed it because they were trying to find somewhere else to move their car.

This is definitely a preventable situation; I had my reservations for a year and could have easily planned for another alternate situation for my guests; but they waited until four weeks before my ceremony before letting me know my options.

Overall, this is an excellent location to plan your events and yes I highly recommend using this facility. Just make sure you ask for Tyler to assist you - I am very thankful for him.

Table Mountain was the first campground I visited after moving to Southern California over 10 years ago. My family and I LOVED it and was our goto spot! Not just because of the location, but mostly because they had a large number of first-come spots. If you decided on a last minute weekend trip with the family, you were almost guaranteed to find a spot, just like when I camped as a kid.

Well in the past year, Mountain High Ski Resort has taken over management and turned this campground into a money making venue. In the past more than 1/2 of the 100+ spots were first-come, now there's about 10 or so. My family and I recently visited, arriving Friday evening and almost had to turn around and go back home. We were VERY LUCKY to get the last remaining first come spot. I'm grateful we got it, but extremely annoyed as I drove through the campground and found numerous vacant spots that we couldn't take because they were technically "reserved" and wouldn't be an official NO-SHOW until 2pm the next day. I understand the forest service wants to improve their revenue stream, but at least open up some more first-comes or come up with a better no-show policy on the reserved sites. Many people are just reserving them far in advance and cancelling the day of when they change their mind.

They are pretty strict with the check-out. It's no longer noon and is 11am now. If you have a larger camping footprint, make sure you get packing as soon as you wake.

Overall, we still had a good time and we'll be back, but wish they could have retained more of what made this our favorite spot. Looks like we'll have to start our search for another diamond in the rough.

One thing to be aware of is that some sites are on quite the slope so I suggest looking at the site pictures before booking if you’re intending to tent camp. Luckily we were able to get a flat site with spots for two tents! Otherwise it was nice! Firewood made very available by the host.

Quiet, clean, beautiful. It was not a weekend - huge advantage!

Great campground!

This site included a bear can, so we were pleasantly surprised. Close enough to the restroom to not have to walk through anyones site, but the best part was a patch of uninterrupted views of the mountains. The trees provided ample shade while also leaving plenty of space to stargaze at night. Overall great site!

We were in the group sites 25-28 and to be honest there’s no where flat to set up our tent so all night you’re sliding down, it’s very uncomfortable. Also there’s rocks everywhere so you really have to watch where you’re stepping or you can twist you’re ankle’s, we like to throw the ball around or kick the ball but you really can’t because you could really get hurt or the ball goes down hill and you have to chase it down. You would think that the people in charge would try to make it more comfortable for the people staying there like gather up those rocks and try to flatten up some parts in those sites to make it more enjoyable. One good thing I can say is that it has a nice view of the city and plenty of trees.

Great place to camp. We had sites 63-64 and had more than enough space. Friendly staff too. Would definitely come back.

Very nice getaway for SoCal residents that don’t like the crowds of big bear.

This was the cleanest campground we'd been to. The hosts were on top of keeping facilities clean and clearing spots of debri. Lovely views and very quiet area. Great for a staycation
