About Table Mountain (Angeles)

Table Mountain, just a short journey northwest of the Los Angeles metro area, provides a beautiful escape from urban life. Campers will find hiking, mountain biking, birding and countless other recreation opportunities. The surrounding landscape is also ideal for scenic drives. The campground sits in the Angeles National Forest, spanning 694,187 acres over most of the San Gabriel Mountain range. The forest boasts spectacular scenery and 557 mi of hiking and equestrian trails.

Great views with lots of activities near by. One of the cleanest campgrounds I love to visit. The host and staff are friendly and informative. I have Spectrum phone service and had spotty service.

Great campground with attentive and knowledgeable staff. They swing by every couple hours to offer firewood, and they know all about the nearby hikes. It’s a pretty big and full campground, so if you’re looking for a remote feel, this isn’t it. However, most sites are far enough apart that it still feels relatively private. Nice little loop trail around the place with lovely views too.

Camp host and mountain high employees were really nice. They sold firewood onsite, and ice/food/beverages were available at mountain high. Vault toilets were clean and there were water spigots. Despite it being a holiday weekend, it wasn’t nearly as loud as the beach campgrounds. My only complaints were that the closest neighbor to me ran their V8 truck engine all day so I smelled exhaust instead of pine trees, and site 23 is really slanted, including the parking pad.

Great camp ground! However, I wish there were more flat/level areas to set up tents. We inspected a number of empty sites near ours and realized most did not have level areas. I’d love to see an investment in leveling off some areas for tents in all the campsites that need it.

Love this campground. The particular site is awesome as long as there are no strong winds in the North, North north-east direction. It sits on a a sort of ridge and the wind whips by it. There is partial shade. The host is awesome (came by and checked in, discussed wind, and offered help/wood). Restrooms were clean.

Table Mountain Campground is accessible via State Route 2, approximately 10 miles to the south, which connects to the Angeles Crest Highway. US Highway 395 is about 20 miles to the east.

  • It is advised that transportation remain on-site with your group in case of emergency evacuations.
  • Fire restrictions may be enforced due to dry conditions.
  • Bears frequent the area; all food must be kept in approved containers.
  • First-come, first-served sites may be available.
  • A fee will be charged for additional vehicles.
  • Be aware that some of our campsites don't have the space to back in a Travel Trailer. A trailer is NOT an RV. Check each campsite details before you arrive.
