Table Mountain (Angeles)

Pretty nice place... spacious, good trees to hang a hammock, bathrooms were super clean and surprisingly not stinky at all.

Ranger was kind and sold us wood.

Saw a couple of deers from the tent in the morning.

The campground is awesome. Site 40 though (the site we stayed at), BEWARE. This site gets INSANE wind in the evening, throughout the night, and into the morning. Campfires are downright scary and borderline dangerous in this spot with how much wind there is. In all honesty, this shouldn't even be a site with how exposed it is to the wind. The tent was SO LOUD at night. It's crazy, you walk maybe 20 yards down the road, and the wind is barely noticeable. If you're camping at Table Mountain, select any site OTHER than Site 40.

Table mountain was the perfect experience as first time campers. Our campsite was relatively level with plenty of shade, a fire ring, and a good sized food locker. The grounds were fully sold out but it did not feel crowded - we were a good enough distance from other campsites that we had privacy, but not so distant that we worried about being isolated if anything went wrong. We enjoyed the nature trail hike but we kind of stumbled upon it, it's not marked on the camp map.

Beautiful dog-friendly campsite with incredible views! The spaces were big, and the grounds were clean, peaceful, and well maintained. We had a wonderful stay and can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend!

We loved the campground. Our kids enjoyed scooteribg around, we were between two bathrooms, and a water spigot was 1 campsite away. The pit toilets were a bit smelly, and remember your own soap. Also, our site was almost entirely hilly and rocky, so bring some sleeping mats for a good night rest.
The sunsets were gorgeous, the trees were serene. We'd love to come back.

Great place to camp

Campsite attendant was professional and friendly. Campsite and bathrooms were well maintained and clean. Had a great time there, as usual. Can’t wait to come back!!

We camped at site 20 in the Broken Blade loop. Camped here with two kids (ages 6 and 2). Overall we had a great time.

Pros: Site 20 is a decent size. It's a bit of a downhill walk from your car to the campsite, but the campsite itself is pretty flat, and there are two flat areas to set up tents (and these areas are a safe distance from the fire pit and bear locker/picnic table). The center of the Broken Blade loop is a large, mostly flat area that was perfect for the kids to play without worrying about them getting hit by a car. The best feature is that Site 20 is very protected from the crazy winds this campground gets sometimes. We slept pretty well in our tent. Site 20 is very close the water faucet, but a bit far from the trash and toilets. The camp host Steve was very friendly and answered a lot of our questions.

I recommend visiting the nearby Big Pines Visitor Center. The volunteers/workers there are friendly and knowledgeable. They have information on nearby hikes and things to do, and have lots of taxidermy animals on display. Jim took a lot of time to teach my kids about the wildlife and plants in this area. We visited Gregory Lake (50 min drive) which is great for kids and Jackson Lake (10min drive) which was ok.

Cons: A couple of the neighboring sites are a bit close. We were there for three nights and only had neighbors next to us for one night, so it wasn't too bad. It's a bit of a walk to the bathrooms which can be annoying, especially at night. As early as 6am the sun comes into the campsite area, and by 8:30am the picnic table area was already getting pretty hot. However, the last day it was overcast and we enjoyed spending a lazy morning there. There wasn't much for hiking in this area with the little kids--especially since some of the easy trails were closed due to previous wildfires. Big Horn Mine and Mt Baden Powell are nearby for more experienced hikers.
