Lottis Creek is one of the nicest campgrounds I visited all summer. The group camping area is outstanding. The campground overall is excellent.
I also enjoyed how shaded the non-group camping sites are. They're flat pads at medium to large size (two tents and a shade cover easily fit, lots of big driveways), and the pit-houses were as immaculate as could be. All that's missing are any bear-boxes, but that's minor.
The only disappointment was learning that the Taylor River in this stretch of area is largely inaccessible due to private land ownership - such a shame, and no fault of the campground of course, but visiting anglers beware! Alternatively, the Taylor Reservoir is close and fishes well. Lottis Creek also offers some fun and technical fly-fishing too; I caught small trouts, some up to around 6-7 inches.
Looking forward to visiting again next year!

From Gunnison, Colo., travel north on Highway 135 for 10 miles to Almont. At intersection of State Rt. 135 and County Rt. 742, take Rt. 742 for 16.7 miles to campground sign. Turn right into campground.
Lottis Creek Campground is accessible via State Highway 135, which leads north from Gunnison. The campground is located approximately 16.7 miles from the intersection of State Rt. 135 and County Rt. 742.

Policies & Rules
General
- Standard Single Family sites: Recreation Use Fee allows ONE camping unit ONLY.
- Late Arrivals: campers are not considered a "no-show" until 24 hours after arrival date check in time. Our policy is that your site will not be released before that.
- FIRST COME FIRST SERVE sites must be booked in person. DO NOT call to determine availability, as they are only available on-site.
- Extra Vehicles: Cannot be paid for in advance - upon arrival coordinate with host for payment and where to park.
- Don't Move Firewood: Prevent the spread of tree-killing organisms by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. For more information visit dontmovefirewood.org.
- If using an Interagency Senior Pass or an Interagency Access pass, holder of this pass must be present with card and a picture ID for the park to honor the discount. The Interagency Annual Pass is not accepted.
