We were greeted by our camp host, Dave, just as we arrived. He gave us detailed directions to find our campsite and was very helpful throughout our stay with suggestions for hikes and activities around the area. We felt welcomed and he was available for any questions we had. Our experience at Amphitheater campground couldn’t have been better!

The campground was a fantastic place to stay. Although there are no showers, the restrooms were VERY clean and stocked with toilet paper. The campground host was very nice and helpful. The location is right off of Million Dollar Highway overlooking Ouray. We saw lots of wildlife but thankfully no bears!

The hosts were amazing and the upkeep was top notch. I have never seen the hosts rake campsites between visitors. The hosts were also a wealth of knowledge and very present. The hosts did keep the pit toilets clean and placed airfreshner within, but because it is summer and many visitors, they did smell from time to time. My spot had amazing views and I would camp here again!
