Ii visited Aces High RV Park 3 months ago and absolutely loved it. It’s a beautiful outdoor camping resort with a peaceful atmosphere and very clean, well-kept grounds. The whole experience was relaxing and enjoyable !. Close to many attractions , 7 miles from the beautiful long island sounds!! Highly recommend it.

Just stayed for 3 nights (Thursday-Sunday morning) and spent $470. Site was very nice, concrete pad, full hookups, water front. Aside from the site I cannot believe this campground charged this much for what it is. Nothing going on, one bathroom closed, and they actually charge to use the showers. I frequent KOA’s and I am used to having way more amenities, and they’re not as expensive as this campground. I understand it’s ’off season’ however it is a year round campground that is charging premium pricing and I feel too expensive for what it is.

This by far is the worst campsite I have ever experienced for three reasons: 1) pricing, 2) dishonesty in policies, and 3) combative/nasty attitude. The facilities were good, but the three reasons listed above outweighed the good facilities. I will never stay at this campsite again.

1) Pricing—Upon booking a site for 30 days I was quoted a price of just shy of $2200 for my small 20’ trailer for a 30 amp service. You can get weekly rates at Best Western down the street for $507 with breakfast included—almost $200 cheaper. As another comparison I had just moved my RV from Four Seasons RV park in southern New Jersey (a great RV park) where I paid $950/month as compared to $2200/month—a substantial difference.
2). Dishonesty: Example: Upon asking about the high pricing I was told I was renting during the busy season (Oct 15 thru Nov 15) and that the whole trailer park was full. Upon leaving the office I drove the entire park and counted 27 vacant spots. I was further told that they would lower my rate following my first 30 days; however, the weekly rate was just shy of $600/week—higher—not lower! Upon being told that the rates would be lower—but they instead were higher I made a decision to leave and go to Best Western—5 miles down the road. However, I needed to stay 2 additional nights for which they wanted to charge me $125/night. Upon complaining they lowered the rate for the 2 nights to $75/night.

3) Combative/Nasty attitude: During my stay I accessed the office several times with questions and each time the older lady was there it was contentious. The younger staff was polite and friendly; however, the older lady (I believe the owner) was contentious, rude, and curt. I would not want to do business with this facility again as I felt like I could not trust them.

We had a fantastic experience at this campground! The park was clean, well-maintained, and offered a peaceful atmosphere. We stayed on sites 47 and 48, which were perfect for camping with friends. Both sites were back-in, pond-front, and featured fully paved pads, complete with a picnic table and fire ring.

The sewer hookup was located at the rear of the pad, so we needed two hose lengths for both water and sewer connections—something to keep in mind when packing. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. During our stay, they hosted a cornhole tournament and other fun activities that added to the community vibe.

The heated saltwater pool was a highlight—perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The campground’s location is ideal, with most attractions about 20 minutes away, making it a convenient base for nearby adventures.

What a wonderful camp ground ! The owner and staff couldn’t be nicer. Everything was kept so neat and clean, including bathrooms and grounds; beautiful gardens, a large pond/ lake. We were able to fish and release, kayak, canoe and paddle boat. There was a short hiking path surrounding the pond. The salt water pool was great and very refreshing. While we were there we had a karaoke night and ice cream sundae Sunday😊 They are in the process of adding exercise and gym equipment.
If anyone is interested in visiting New England or camping in Connecticut this is a perfect place. It’s close to beaches and other attractions . They also have cabins available. We will definitely be coming back . Very quiet and relaxing ! Oh and they are open all year round !
Thank you Aces for a wonderful time 😊👍🏻 see you next year if not sooner!
