Excellent visit. Pad was level with easy access to hookups. The staff at checking and during a visit to the camp store couldn't have been more helpful. The spring felt amazing on a hot day with stairs to make entering the water very easy.

The new company is not following the rules out there. Off road vehicles flying around the campground. Paddle boarding in the swimming area , huge floats over 60 inches. Trash and cups in the springs .

Large sites and friendly hosts. Would prefer to be able to ride our side by side on property or at least just to the exit. It was the reason we came to the area was for the off-road trails next door, but is not permitted to drive while inside. We had to trailer the side by side out and find a place to leave the truck and trailer to then get on the trails which started right behind the RV site. Other than that, we had a great time! Loved that the springs were right there!

We encountered a water leak in our RV camper the first day we were at the campsite. We were forced to shut off the water to the camper to eliminate the leak. Fortunately we were directly across from the public showers & used them for showers as well as toilet needs. The bathrooms were extremely clean, well stocked & open 24 hours a day. There was also a “dish washing” station between the men’s and women’s showers with a large deep sink perfect for cleaning up after meals. The site itself was large and level with morning shade just perfect for sitting outside & enjoying a morning cup of coffee. We brought our two dogs and there was lots of room to tether them outside. The only negative for us was that besides riding our E bikes around and around the loops of the campsite, there was nothing other than taking advantage of the springs to do. We picked the wrong weekend (Fourth of July) and the springs were packed, so we chose not to partake there. Did not do our due diligence as to other possible nearby activities but other than that, the campsite itself was perfect.

Nice Camper area.

Sites clean and easily accessible for backing into driveway.
Down side only room for camper and 1 vehicle

Awesome campground! We were there over Nuly 4th weekend and it was peaceful and quiet. The springs are a bit congested but it was a holiday weekend so I suppose that’s par for the course.

Salt Springs is located 35 miles east of Ocala (I-75), 60 miles west of Daytona Beach (I-95) and 95 miles north of Orlando, Florida.
From I-75 to Ocala: Drive east on State Route 40 for about 12 miles, then turn north on County Road 314 and proceed for 18 miles. Turn north on State Highway 19 and drive for about 0.5 mile to the recreation area entrance on the right.
From I-95 east of Ormond Beach: Take SR 40 west about 40 miles to Highway 19. Turn north on Highway 19 and go about 16 miles to Salt Springs. Continue 0.5 miles to the recreation entrance on the right.
Salt Springs Recreation Area is accessible from I-75 via State Route 40, which is approximately 12 miles to the east. I-95 can also be accessed via State Route 40, which connects to Highway 19.

Policies & Rules
General
- Two vehicles are included in the site fee. However, only 1 vehicle is allowed to park on the site spur unless it completely fits on the asphalt/parking pad. The other vehicle must park in overflow parking. Boats are considered a vehicle and will count towards one of your vehicles if you bring one. An extra vehicle charge will be applied towards boats and vheicles over the allowed 2.
- Vehicles, trailers, campers, motorcycles, etc. must be parked on paved surfaces. Do not park on the grass.
- Generators are not allowed to run during quiet hours.
- Stays are only allowed for 14 days in any 30 day period.
- Be sure to reserve a site that will accommodate your equipment. The site you reserve is your site. You may not move to another site.
- Pets are not allowed into the Day Use area Forest Order #08-05-05-02-13-0207; 36 CFR261.58(s)
- Personal golf carts are not allowed in the Ocala National Forest; if you bring one, it must remain on its trailer
- Maximum 2 vehicles allowed per site; a fee will be charged for extra vehicles
- There is no cell phone coverage or internet service at Salt Springs
- Don't Move Firewood: Help protect our forests! Prevent the spread of tree-killing pests by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. Moving firewood is illegal in some states. Visit dontmovefirewood.org to learn more.
