Salt Springs Recreation Area

Fantastic two weeks at another great park. Spacious full hook up site. Wonderful trails in the park and nearby. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful time. We will be back soon. The springs were beautiful and so refreshing!

This is the second time I’ve been here and it won’t be the last. This is a nice place to stay. It’s well kept and clean.

Sites were a little more crowded than I’d like, and the jets flying to the bombing range were extremely loud. Other than that, fabulous campground. Enjoyed FULL hookups. Staff were friendly and helpful. Springs were beautiful.

This recreation area is first class ,friendly staff ,beautiful grounds ,great sites ,clean bathhouses and the spring is great! The location is great , we love to snorkel ,so it is close to the other springs in the ONF and Florida State parks also.
Love the basketball hoops and they have add cornhole games also, Please keep both ! A pickleball court would be fantastic, just a suggestion.

Love the park, kayaking was great as well as the swimming. Our site was clean as usual.

The tent sites are very close together and not private at all, plus the road that the tent sites are on is heavily eroded and uneven, I don't mind a dirt road and I can understand potholes etc. but this is a great way to tear up your car if you don't have a lot of clearance. The campground is also right across the road from some kind of restaurant or dive bar that on the second night of my stay had a live band playing from around 8pm until nearly midnight. Unless you are a very heavy sleeper it would not have been possible to sleep with this going on, that's how loud it was. I get that the campground can't control something like this but because of this alone I doubt I would ever stay here again. Additionally, I found elements of the swimming area to be rather unpleasant. Yes, it is gorgeous and there is a lot of room both in and out of the water so you're not right on top of everyone else, but boats are allowed to pull right up to the swimming area, so people will park their boats right where the spring is roped off and blast incredibly loud music all day long. While I get that people ruining the peace and ambiance of a space like this by forcing their music on everyone else is not exactly uncommon, it was just incredibly unpleasant and irritating when trying to relax and enjoy the spring.

Staff needs to learn how to approach customers nicely about rules. Never saw any of them smile at anyone. No parking at swim area if you camp there? Ridiculous! Check out changed from 1pm To 11am and then if you want to clean up your site and go to swim before leaving you have to pay? Prices to high already. My family has camped here for generations we had 4 sites. This is our last trip to Salt springs too many nicer parks for a better price.
