Nice campground and it was quiet during my week long stay. Utilities are placed well. For a NFS campground the third party vendor has decided to extract as much money as possible from campers and day use visitors throughout the Ocala National Forest.

This is an absolutely lovely park. The camping sites are large, shaded and well maintained. The springs is wonderful! We enjoyed swimming and snorkeling there.

Please listen to this. Salt Springs and several of the springs such as Juniper Springs and Alexander Springs are way, way too expensive for families. We suspect it is due to Naventure being involved. Compare the prices to beautiful springs like Blue Springs, Rainbow Springs and many others and the difference are just too much to ignore. It's not like they offer anything that other springs don't offer and are family friendly. We are older and don't have our children traveling with us but it's so sad to see other young families spending so much money. Naventure doesn't even do a good job. We book kayak trips whenever we can and when we visited Silver Springs and Rainbow the kayak staff was helpful and friendly. At Naventure they did nothing. We watched people less able than ourselves loading their kayaks by themselves and launching by themselves with no attendant in sight. A very big difference from the other springs we have kayaked at. Please consider this email and at least compare the prices to the other beautiful springs. We are residents of FL and have been for 43 years and we are saddened to see the people who live in that area and have families as well as all others who visit have to pay such unfair prices to enjoy the springs.

The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because we weren’t aware that one of the bathhouses (which we specifically got an available spot near) was under construction so we weren’t able to use it, and had to drive to a further bathhouse. Besides that, we absolutely love this RV campground. We have camped here several times and each time is very pleasant, family friendly environment. We will definitely be returning.

The park was clean and well maintained. We were there the first part of the week and there were not many campers. It would help if campers were notified of restroom closings for renovations before arriving and finding out when you walk to the restroom.

Our camping group is so happy for the new staff that has recently taken over…Check-in was so pleasant and quick. The park staff is taking such great care of the campground and the spring area now. The new staff is treating everyone with total respect. The campers aren’t being constantly bothered or bullied anymore either. Which definitely makes your visit so much better. We also loved chatting with the park host Don too. He’s such a great guy! He really cares about the park and all of us camper’s. Thank you for making our campground so nice and welcoming again. We can’t wait to come back.

I really enjoyed camping here. We did camp tenting. We went out before we camped there and found a great spot to reserve. It was nice and shady. The water felt nice and it was fun being able to swim.

Salt Springs is located 35 miles east of Ocala (I-75), 60 miles west of Daytona Beach (I-95) and 95 miles north of Orlando, Florida.
From I-75 to Ocala: Drive east on State Route 40 for about 12 miles, then turn north on County Road 314 and proceed for 18 miles. Turn north on State Highway 19 and drive for about 0.5 mile to the recreation area entrance on the right.
From I-95 east of Ormond Beach: Take SR 40 west about 40 miles to Highway 19. Turn north on Highway 19 and go about 16 miles to Salt Springs. Continue 0.5 miles to the recreation entrance on the right.
Salt Springs Recreation Area is accessible from I-75 via State Route 40, which is approximately 12 miles to the east. I-95 can also be accessed via State Route 40, which connects to Highway 19.

Policies & Rules
General
- Two vehicles are included in the site fee. However, only 1 vehicle is allowed to park on the site spur unless it completely fits on the asphalt/parking pad. The other vehicle must park in overflow parking. Boats are considered a vehicle and will count towards one of your vehicles if you bring one. An extra vehicle charge will be applied towards boats and vheicles over the allowed 2.
- Vehicles, trailers, campers, motorcycles, etc. must be parked on paved surfaces. Do not park on the grass.
- Generators are not allowed to run during quiet hours.
- Stays are only allowed for 14 days in any 30 day period.
- Be sure to reserve a site that will accommodate your equipment. The site you reserve is your site. You may not move to another site.
- Pets are not allowed into the Day Use area Forest Order #08-05-05-02-13-0207; 36 CFR261.58(s)
- Personal golf carts are not allowed in the Ocala National Forest; if you bring one, it must remain on its trailer
- Maximum 2 vehicles allowed per site; a fee will be charged for extra vehicles
- There is no cell phone coverage or internet service at Salt Springs
- Don't Move Firewood: Help protect our forests! Prevent the spread of tree-killing pests by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. Moving firewood is illegal in some states. Visit dontmovefirewood.org to learn more.
