Sun Outdoors Key Largo

Very reasonable price for the luxury cabin. Private bathroom in the room unlike some RV Cabins. The property itself feels very crammed. Not a lot of space. But we only slept there. Did not do anything on the dock patio area. But it looked nice.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Sunset Outdoors Key Largo for two nights. Everything everyone else is writing about the dock/swim area and general layout is true. However, we had a major issue where our cottage is located. Our cottage was a duplex that was right next to the entrance, and very very close to the highway. Our room was the one that was facing the highway. This made it extremely difficult for my boyfriend and I to get some sleep, and also made me feel like I didn’t have much privacy.

We recently stayed at Sun Outdoors Key Largo and appreciated the scenic view from the end of the property and location relative to a wedding venue we were attending.

During our stay, we encountered a few areas that could benefit from improvement. The room was not stocked with an adequate supply of towels, and we were surprised to find that neither an iron nor an ironing board was provided. Additionally, the shower had notably low water pressure, and we observed that a smoke detector was missing from our unit—which is a safety consideration that we hope the management will address. The bed was softer than expected and had a worn spot in the center, which made sleeping comfortably as a couple difficult, as we tended to roll toward one another during the night.

We found the staff to be courteous, but the issues above affected our comfort level. With a few enhancements to basic room amenities, this property has the potential to better meet guest expectations.

Sun Outdoors Key Largo is a nice, waterfront campground with a “club” area that has a fire out and lounging areas with water front views. The campground itself is pretty small and spaces are tight. If you have pets, there isn’t much grass to walk them and let them go potty, as the majority of the space is gravel. At $200/night, it’s steep. Add on fees are a “resort fee” and “community impact fee. But it is a clean, waterfront community so I suppose if that’s what you’re looking for, you’ll pay. It was a bit difficult to just speak to someone that works here as it seems to be part of a large network of vacation rental places.

We can't say enough good things about this place. Great location, beautiful sunsets, great swimming area and can occasionally get visited by manatees. Nice dockage for your boat. Great grilling area and pavilion. We had a wonderful wedding here at sunset for some friends of ours.
They have some the hardest working staff I've ever seen. And Chris, the host will bend over backwards to help you. We've camped up and down the Keys for years and this is our favorite place. Been coming here now for 3 years in our RV. We love this place!
