Ortona South Campground is hands down one of our favorite campgrounds of all time! The sites are huge, level, and well-maintained, with a mix of paved and gravel surfaces, grassy areas, and vegetation between sites for privacy—you’re not packed in on top of your neighbors. The campground has electric and water hookups, plus a dump station, making it super convenient. Bathhouses are clean with hot water, mirrors and hand dryers.
The campground hosts are friendly and attentive, always keeping an eye on things. There’s plenty of space to walk dogs, and we’ve never had an issue with unleashed pets. Amenities include grills, campfire rings, water access, fishing spots, and plenty of shade. We also had great cell coverage with both AT&T and Verizon. The views of open pastures with grazing cows, along with cranes fishing in the creek, add to the peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.
If you're looking for a quiet, spacious, and scenic campground, this is it. Highly recommend!

Gr8 place to camp. Shower houses need so much repair and updating. No air hand dryer in the upper campground. People coming in to fish and speeding thru the campground and up the road leading into the campground. My suggestion is charge these fishermen a fee to enter and use that money to update the showerhouses. The road leading to the campground needs repairs. It is so rough in places. Our tax dollars could be put to a better use than helping illegals.

Very laid back, relaxing trip. My stay was 4 nights on 4 different sites. The staff worked to switch me so I only had to move once. The Fish Fry on Saturday night was awesome!
