Juniper Springs and campground is a gem! Love it there, shaded, fairly well maintained. People, if you're going to use the springs, be respectful of others and not blast your music. Not everyone enjoys what you listen too! Called RESPECT! CAMPERS this is for you! DO NOT take your camp trash to the bathhouses! Lazy and irresponsible of you!

The pool at Juniper Springs was very nice. However, the rest of the park had an extreme need for repair. Every walking trail, we attempted to go down was closed. There appears to be no maintenance on the trails, they just shut them down, and most places in this beautiful park were in disrepair. It is sad to see a federal park run down this way that has such nice amenity and possibility for popularity. Location is great. It just needs more upkeep.

Great site. Close enough to the facilities but far away enough that you’re not inconvenienced. You do have a cut through right next to your site but I found it to be useful and the other people were respectful of walking by our site. SO. MANY.BUGS. To be expected, we were prepared. Good amount of ticks and mosquitos. Warm water at the showers. Overall a really great experience!

The pavilion area exceeded our expectations because the price was too good. It was super clean and completely shaded and cool. We had both babies and elderly at our graduation party and all were comfortable and happy. There was always an attendant there to assist us in anything we needed and trash was changed frequently as we needed. The spring to including trails, campsites, restrooms and the little shop were very clean and maintained. The only complaint I would have would be that the entrance fee on the website has not been updated so the entrance fee was more than expected. This was only an inconvenience to us because our guest list was told an amount and it was different when they arrived.

The sand area community bathroom showers had no cold water....it was scalding hot. Mentioned to workers and they all knew about it, but stated maintenance ordered a part and was waiting on delivery and install. Also not sure why no site had at least electricity. Made it difficult to enjoy . Can campground be upgraded?

The spring area was very enjoyable and the campsite was spacious and private. However, I was disappointed that so many things were broken or closed... Pavilions, paths, bathrooms, and etc. It seems like this recreation area needs some work done on it. I hope they have the resources to get it done soon.

Went on a Wednesday and had the entire campground to myself. Fantastic. Always enjoy my stays here at Juniper, but still disappointed that absolutely no effort is going into restoring the trails and walkways.

From I-75, take Highway 40 east through Ocala and Silver Springs for approximately 36 miles to the Juniper Springs Recreation Area.
From I-95, take the Ocala/Silver Springs Exit (Highway 40) west for approximately 37 miles to the Juniper Springs Recreation Area.
From the intersection of Highway 40 and Highway 19, the campground is 4.5 miles west on Highway 40. The entrance is on the north side of Highway 40.
Juniper Springs Recreation Area is accessible via Highway 40, which connects to I-75 and I-95. It is located approximately 4.5 miles west of the intersection of Highway 40 and Highway 19.

General
- Campground gate is closed and locked from to . Campers who check-in after the gatehouse is closed must visit the Gatehouse the next morning to complete their check-in to their site. Failure to do so will lead to a 'no show' charge to your reservation and potential forfeiture of site.
- Camp sites must be occupied first night of reservation
- Each campsite can hold a MAXIMUM of 2 tents and 5 campers. Maximum 2 vehicles per site (campers included); extra vehicles must park in overflow/overnight parking area and will be charged $9 per vehicle, per night
- NO REFUNDS DUE TO WEATHER
- Generators are not allowed to run during quiet hours.
- No off-road vehicles allowed within the campground
- Bears and raccoons frequent the area; all food must be kept in approved containers. Failure to comply with this regulation can result in immediate ejection from campground without refund.
- Dogs/pets are allowed in campground only and must be leashed and supervised at all times. No dogs/pets allowed in day-use area, bathrooms, boardwalk and canoe run.
- Alcoholic beverages are not allowed in the day-use area.We ask that guests be courteous of one another and limit floats in the swimming area to under 60 inches across. Please be aware the boardwalk remains closed due to age and hurricane damage.
- Children weighing less than 40 lbs are not allowed in rental canoes. No disposable items allowed on the canoe run (i.e., food wrappers, styrofoam coolers, cans, bottles, etc.) Only re-usable containers are allowed.
- Private canoe and kayak launches are at a fee and limited to 30 total vessels per day. Vessels must be launch BEFORE 1:00 p.m. daily. JUNIPER RUN IS NOT FOR BEGGINERS. IT IS A WILDERNESS AREA AND MECHANICAL TOOLS ARE NOT PERMITTED, SO THE RUN REMAINS WILD.

- As per Forestry Department regulations, fines will result from the following infractions: - Leaving unattended coolers and food. These items must be in bear boxes or fully shut vehicles - Leaving burning or smoldering fires when exiting campsite. - Improperly parked vehicles
