What Guests Are Saying

Juniper Springs Recreation Area is a beautiful natural destination, ideal for summer visits with its refreshing springs and scenic kayaking on Juniper Run. Campgrounds are generally well-maintained and offer a peaceful atmosphere, with friendly staff enhancing the experience. However, some facilities, like the wooden boardwalks and bathrooms, require repairs, and visitors should be cautious of ticks and occasional overcrowding in popular areas.

It is a great campground and most state parks are in very good condition. Nice showers and clean bathrooms. This is one of the most beautiful campgrounds in Florida. Most hiking trails were closed off due to construction. Very nice campsites, and fun to swim in the water hole. Kids were too young to go canoeing, but glad to see that is still available.

We love juniper springs but am disappointed that most of the trails are closed for repairs. We have been coming here for years and the trails over the bridges have been closed a long time.

I was actually in site 17 because 24 was almost on top of the bathroom. 17 was lovely, quite large. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lots of birds in the area. I did not do the Juniper Springs kayak run because I can't sit in a kayak that long but went to Silver Sprins instead. That was a lovely paddle, lots of wildlife

We rented kayaks and had an enjoyable time. Not for beginners though. The staff are friendly. The bathrooms need updating and were cleaned regularly.

Campsites on Sand Loop are very private and large. The bath house was well cleaned. Enjoyed time around the spring head swim area. The Juniper Run kayaking was epic with crystal clear water, canopy trees and even some small rapids in the mix. The run is not very wide or deep and has plenty of gators, so it takes some courage (or stupidity 😊). If you take the run, you will need to be aware of your surroundings for 4 hours and 7 miles – stay safe and have fun my follow campers!

The Park campground is awesome,..nice sites, electric, water, and sewer. The campground store is well stocked. We went to camp, and have access to the river for kayaking. We were disappointed to find a gate blocking access to the river, and would have had to to carry our boats a long ways to the water. This distance was enough to discourage our plans, and we just left our boats on the truck.

Great park. Helpful staff and well run park. Not a 5 because of the disrepair to the trails and park facilities itself. Been that way for a while too it seems. It's a shame especially in OUR national parks.

It would be nice to have electricity in the restroom, but the campground is absolutely beautiful! Camp staff was very helpful!

A very well-managed park. The only reason I did not give it a 5 is the lack of WiFi anywhere in the park. Don't need it at the campsite, but at the main stope or visitor's center, it would be helpful for those "have to connect" moments.

Great place for camping. Clean bathrooms and dishwasher! Some of the trails are closed for maintenance during the time of this review. If you are thinking of doing Kayaking/Canoeing, keep in mind that it is a narrow stream and you must do the 7 mile stretch (4-5 hrs).
