Love this place. Great work, Saint John's Water Management District. Wonderful hiking, fishing and hunting opportunities (see FWC website) wildlife everywhere, Primitive camping. Multiple ecosystems from pine uplands to oak hammocks and prairie.

Large park that allows bikes and dogs on a leash. I stress the importance of keeping them leashed due to the abundance of gators in the area. The place is great for seeing them and for fishing. The area is large but the trails are a bit lacking. I do take out of town friends here when they want to see some wildlife because the canals towards the front have never ceased to produce a few gators on every single trip there.

Cool place to go for a short backpacking overnight stay. The natural beauty of FL really shines in this place. Nice that the reservation is free. Doesn't seem that there are many people camping out there so you're sure to have peace and quiet.

nice shady walk in the woods. with several colored trails you can walk for hours. the boardwalk is great. all flat ground and easily marked. although i saw nothing it was a quiet experience. no cars, no airports nearby and no trains around. on the way in saw many gators.
