This doesn't appear to be affiliated with KOA anymore. In my opinion the online pictures are misrepresenting the actual condition of the park. We reserved a spot online and the pictures I'm posting represents the actual spot that I reserved. We did not stay there as the office was closed when we got there around 3pm. We do not recommend.

Great location the amenities of the campground were great. The owner actually came out and greeted us. Spoke with us and talk with me and my wife for about 15 minutes. Great guy actually upgraded our site outstanding guy.

I stayed at this campground in 2016 and had a very positive experience. Unfortunately, when my wife and I returned in May 2026, we were surprised by how neglected and run-down the property had become.
We stayed one night in a cabin that was noticeably dirty, although the heater, lights, refrigerator, and microwave were all functioning properly. The men's and women's restrooms were in poor condition, with hair and dirt in the sinks, no hot water, and showers that looked badly neglected. The floors, doors, and walls throughout the bathrooms were covered in grime.
The campground grounds were also poorly maintained. The grass had not been mowed, and tall weeds were growing throughout the property. The swimming pool was dirty and uninviting.
Perhaps most concerning was the complete lack of staff presence during the weekend. The campground store remained closed the entire time despite posted hours indicating it should have been open. Since I had registered and paid online in advance, there was no one available to speak with regarding these issues.
Based on this experience, I would not return to this campground and would not recommend it to families with children.

Tons of potential, but currently neglected. Here is what to expect.
This campground has a great footprint and sits in a prime spot for anyone exploring Craters of the Moon. It looks like it was probably a fantastic, well-cared-for oasis back when it was a KOA, but right now, it’s suffering from a serious lack of basic upkeep. Word on the ground is the owner is selling soon, and unfortunately, that impending transition shows in the day-to-day operations.
The bones of our cabin were fine (classic KOA), but it simply wasn't cleaned before we checked in. The floors were covered in visible dirt - we swept up about two cups of debris ourselves - and both the microwave and mini-fridge still had old, uncleaned spills inside them from past guests. The rest of the facilities are facing the same neglect. The main office was closed during the day all weekend, the exterior grounds are overgrown, the main pool is broken, and the temporary above-ground pool is gone. Over in the communal restrooms, the sinks don't drain properly, toilet paper was running out, and there is active mold in the men's shower stalls.
There are a couple of unique environmental details to keep in mind.
First, the property next door blasts the Pledge of Allegiance over outdoor loudspeakers at 9:00 AM and 9:00 PM every day. They seem like nice folks, but it's worth noting if you have noise-sensitive pets or kids.
Second, for anyone attuned to the stranger, more atmospheric side of travel, the "horror movie vibe" a few other reviews have mentioned is a fair description of the energy here. It feels noticeably heavy. We distinctly heard heavy, human-like footsteps walk across the wooden porch of Cabin 2 four different times during our stay. We checked immediately the first three times; no people, no animals, no wind, and no highway truck vibrations to account for it.
It’s a sad situation because you can see how fabulous this place used to be, and it could easily get back to that level with a new owner who cares. Until that happens, just head in knowing you’ll need to be entirely self-reliant and comfortable with a more rustic, unmanaged environment.

Arco is creepy. It has some
Interesting history with the nuclear power plant. The locals are…. Odd. The property next door blast the droning recording of pledge of allegiance randomly (kinda spooky). Maybe they’ll film a horror movie here. Definitely gives those vibes. The cabin was very cute, and clean enough. The bathrooms were….fine. Liminal space and kooky. There is a friendly cat (we named him cinnamon) that hung out with us during our stay. I would consider this stay an experience. Not good not bad. Just odd.
