About Macks Creek Campground
Macks Creek Campground is a very popular small campground just 25 mi from the Boise area along Arrowrock road off Highway 21 operated and managed by the US Army Corps of Engineers. The campground is reservation only May-September and closed to vehicle traffic the remainder of the year. Visitors make the trip to enjoy quality seasonal recreational activities like boating, swimming, camping, fishing, and hunting. Regular seasonal drawdowns occur each year which impact the recreational activities available at Lucky Peak Lake. Verizon LTE is now available at the Camp Host site to make online reservations.

Arrived September 1st. A nice little spot that’s conveniently located a mere 30 minutes from Boise. We had the unfortunate luck of multiple 100 degree days which made it brutally hot with very little breeze.
Also pay attention to the Lucky Peak Lake drawdown notifications. The lake drops significantly in just two weeks and water access recedes hundreds of feet from camp vs right at your doorstep during July and early August. Best to stick to natural lakes vs managed reservoirs this late in the season.

I had been unaware of this small campground only 30 mints from Boise. I usually drive an hour or more for camping, but decided on this one since my daughter is pregnant. We had a super time there. It was a Thursday evening so there were very few site occupied. It's a perfect place for a family get-together, so close to town that my kids who have to work could just come out for a night.

Great time at Macks Creek. The rangers that checked in us were wonderful. The water was extremely low so my grandkids had tons of beach to play in. Very clean and well maintained. Great experience

Quiet and scenic camping with limited sites, all with beautiful water views and docks for fishing or mooring a kayak, or just relaxing. Annette, the campground host, was so very helpful with check-in, and even offered us a better site that happened to be unreserved for the night. We look forward to returning.

The camp host, I think it was Annette. She was so cool! I started trying to schedule spots in December. I got 2. I think there should be some kind of lottery or you can only schedule so many nights in a row and that's it! They can't get it again. Also, my husband and I were telling her that we weren't sure if we were going to make it on Thursday last week. People do that and they don't call. If we could have a waiting list. I have lived here for 21 years and it is ridiculous. We would be up there all the time if we could ever get a spot. We love it there! Oh, this is for the RV area.

General
- Advance reservations are required for all sites.
- CHECK IN: Upon arrival, campers should check in with the camp host. If the host is unavailable, please keep your electronic reservation confirmation handy for verification by Park Rangers on patrol. All visitors may be asked to show ID and/or proof of reservation upon check-in. Site reservations cannot be transferred upon arrival.
- LATE ARRIVAL. Please phone the Lake Office at (208) 343-0671 to notify park staff of your late arrival. You may also leave a message for the Camp Host and Park Rangers at (208) 455-4281, who will check this voicemail before releasing No-Show sites. Failure to appear at a reserved campsite in the first 24 hours will result in the release of that site with additional charges applying.
- Upon checkout, reservation holders are expected to depart Macks Creek Campground. Lingering Day Use activities and late departures from the campground are not permitted. If you have reserved the campsite with the intention to leave in the evening do not intend to return for the remainder of your reservation, please notify the host, park staff, or Lake Office so we may open up the campsite upon your departure for future use.
- Parking is extremely limited. To ensure all reserved campers are accomodated, please see individual site notes for the maximum number of people allowed in each site. If your group is larger, reserve additional sites. Sites 1-5 park within their site or nearby unassigned areas. Site 6 has three assigned parking stalls. Sites 7, 8, 11 and 12 have two assigned parking stalls each, Group Site 9 has four parking stalls, and Sites 13-15 have one parking stall each (but are located near a large unassigned shoulder parking area).
- Docks are shared and not assigned to sites.
- Unreserved Day Use is NOT permitted May-Sept. The campground is reservation only May-September and closed to vehicle traffic the remainder of the year. Due to the limited amount of space available and parking, unreserved day use is not allowed. The rest of the lake is open to day use and nearby attractions are- Arrowrock Dam, 5-mile, Naked Rock, and Spring Shores Marina.
- Macks Creek Campground is a high demand area. If you do not intend to use your reservation, ensure cancellation is prompt so we may open up the sites to people who wish to use the site. No-show fees will apply after 24 hours.
- Verizon LTE is available at the Camp Host site. The nearest other cellular service is T-Mobile (three miles away at Mile Marker 1 of Arrowrock Road). An emergency phone pedestal is also located near the Camp Host site to report emergencies and make free local calls by speakerphone.
