I loved this small campground right by the lake and close to Boise. It was great.

Very well maintained park with hard working staff. Our experience was dampen by the enormous number of flies which were unabated. Having booked our site weeks in advance and taking the only unreserved spot for a Wednesday/Thursday stay we were also astonished to find no other campers were occupying their reserved spots. The host explained that this was an ongoing problem......

Quiet campsite with amazing views of trees and water below. Level, smooth tenting spot and nice picnic table.

You get what you pay for. The reservoir is woefully low and inaccessible. The RV camping/parking area is all gravel and along the road opposite of the lake. It was super hot that day too. I'd say take a pass.

Water was super low could not swim. Also was like camping on a busy street. We left.

There are five RV spots in the upper campground. There is little shade, and it can be hot in the summer months. You should bring your own water as the available water is from a hand-pump well. Filling an RV tank is almost impossible from such a supply. The campground is really oriented towards tent camping, with nice shady spots down at the lake with docks for each site. In two days staying there, we never saw the camp host once. Overflow parking is on the main road. But non-campers use these spaces for daytime access to the lake. If you have a boat and tow vehicle to park, you have to wait until the illegally parked day visitors leave. The single vault toilet was clean and usable.

We love camping at Mack’s Creek. It’s nice that the park has gone exclusively for campers and not day use users. There needs to be more help for the 1 camp host who is so busy on the weekends and gone Tue and Wed.
