View and ambience is gorgeous and lake is warm in July. Seems like a hidden treasure for out-of-staters like us. Our expectations were middling before we arrived and Mack’s Creek over performed - big time. There were somehow no mosquitoes, but a local told us that wasn’t normal for July. No good drinking water on site so make sure you bring some. Boise is only 30m drive if you need anything.

We really enjoy going to Mack’s Creek! You must have a reservation which keeps it from being crowded. Great play area for kids. The beach area is very clean. There’s a camp host and Park Ranger checking on things and confirming reservations. No cell service which is also great!

Was warm, as expected when we got to the site, but it cooled down when the sun set. Site was clean and well kept (no trash).
Quiet area and was not bothered by the noise of passing cars (we were in a classB campervan) even throughout the night.

RV sites are close to the road, but never bothered us when sleeping. A short walk to the test site gives you access to the water. Great camping site very close to Boise. Too bad the sites close very early in the year (mid-September) .

The host came and talked to us shortly after we arrived and made us feel very welcome. this is a great spot. we wish there were more rv spots!

Camp host was great. The ranger we talked were very helpful and friendly.

The camp host was very rude and confrontational. We talked with some other campers and they had the same view of the host as we did. He cased our 88 year old grandmother off of a picnic table that she was setting at when she was eating. The site was not reserved by any other camper.
