Campground is roughly .5 mi long- for kids to ride bikes/ take a walk. Half the sites have access to the river from their site. the rest will have to use a trail closer to the parking lot. Clean, lots of bathrooms. Most sites have a nice "lawn" . Dump station at the site. only downside is the noise from the road can be loud. Great fishing and access to water.

Idaho is beautiful, and the Huckleberry campground is one of its crown jewels. The campground, nestled in mountains and bordered by fly fishers Mecca - the St. Joe river, is destination camping at its finest - offering something for every one. Hike, bike or hunt in the mountains, with easily accessible stunning views. Or fish the early am rises, (easy wading), and then play in the mountains, but return in time for the evening hatch. The camp hosts, however, are the unique and best attribute of this campground. They keep the campsites, restrooms, boat launch, parking places - everything- pristine and perfect. Even leaf blowing your camper's parking site. The trash cans are clean, bagged and you literally could serve lunch on the clean restroom floors - probably not the best ambiance but definitely clean enough, LOL. But wait, there's more! - Jerry Warren and his lovely wife Patti, and their side kick Mike are what make the campground exceptional, friendly and welcoming. They are quick to help you get situated, offer help and tips on fishing, hunting, hiking, local information, and connect you with other campers with similar interests. We've been there twice now, and consider Jerry, Patti and Mike our new best friends. Patti even tied my shoelace for me so I wouldn't have to get off my new bicycle - (the learning curve was pulling g's as I am older. :o)
In summation - we couldn't recommend any campsite more - and that is because of the excellent camp hosts. And hey upper management - give Jerry, Patti and Mike a raise - whatever it takes to keep such awesome, enthusiastic, kind, friendly, and hard working staff. Staff that treats campers as friends and guests, at a site maintained so beautifully that Martha Stewart's home looks shabby in comparison. Thank you Jerry, Patti & Mike - we'll be back soon! Amazing place! Right on the river. Although some camp sites are close, there is heavy woods between sites. Very loud road noise as it’s a logging road

Beautiful campground. Campground host super accommodating. The vaulted toilet houses were the cleanest I’ve seen & they had toilet seat boosters for the kiddos.
Then, there’s natural beauty of the St. Jo River valley in the Avery area is amazing.

Lovely campground along the St Joe river, with fresh water and power, pit toilets, no showers. Lots of truck noise from logging and construction operations up stream, but the beautiful setting makes up for it. Campground staff is friendly and hard-working. The outhouses are always clean and pleasant. WiFi at each end of campground.
