We stayed in a group site, which was wonderful. The campground is lovely and the location on the St Joe is pretty amazing. We’ve stayed here a few times and always have a great time. For our stay this summer however, the campground host was hostile and threatening from the moment we pulled in. He was so aggressive and unfriendly, we likely won’t be back

Huckleberry is a great place to take the family. Bring the kids bikes to tool around the campground, and also their swimsuits for a little cold plunge in the river. Between catching frogs, collecting rocks, and building forts, there is so much to do!

This beautiful campground is always super clean, the hosts are very friendly and helpful. This was our 3rd stay here and we will definitely be back. We like to drive up to Avery where the fly shop makes great sandwiches and has tasty ice cream, which can be enjoyed on the terrace overlooking the St Joe river. Highly recommend Huckleberry campground.

First the positives. This is the cleanest campground I have been at in 10 years. Trash is emptied at least once a day. Vault toilets smell like bleach, instead of waste. They even have a package of wet wipes and a child toilet seat in the vault toilets. I do wonder how often the vault toilets are emptied, because usually at the end of the summer, they are pretty rank. But not at Huckleberry!

- Huckleberry Rules• Camping allowed in designated sites only • Campers must occupy and pay for site within 30 minutes of arrival • No site saving • Site must be occupied first night and every 24 hours thereafter • No cutting of live vegetation • All pets must be leashed • Maximum length of stay: 14 nights • Citations may be issued for failure to pay fees • Campers may not leave personal property unattended for more than 24 hours • No shooting • No fireworks • Commercial uses require Special Recreation Permit Campsite Capacity• Additional vehicles must park in designated day-use parking areas. • Proof of purchase must be visible on vehicle/trailer. • Dump station is for registered Huckleberry overnight camping guests only.
