Way to expensive! We paid less at South Rim Grand Canyon for full hook-up!

The location is great, right on the river, camp hosts' keep it very clean, toilets especially clean and the grass nicely mowed.

Warning of the log truck starting at 4:00 AM, very loud and a lot of them.

Manager, Camp Host says 3:pm is check-in…. Site was vacant the night before makes no sense!!! State Parks says if it is clean you are welcome. I think the Camp Host needs directions from management that the person renting the space is a guest and should be welcomed as such. I understand that if the site is not cleaned or mowing is needed we do our best to have it ready by 3;pm. But if it is ready to go the camper should be welcomed as a guest.

Make sure to spend some time wading in the river. Sitting a folding chair in the river is also very enjoyable.
First week of August, the River was a bit low to raft from the bridge back to the campground without a fair amount of paddling in the last half of the run. July would be better. Camp hosts were very helpful and friendly.

A beautiful campground, impeccably maintained. Even though there are quite a lot of campsites, they are separated enough by space and trees that you don't feel like your neighbors are right on top of you. I have to say that the toilets are clean and the best smelling of any in recent memory. The hosts are great, very friendly and helpful. The St. Joe River passes right behind the campsite and is very peaceful, and yes, very fishy. This was our second trip and we are definitely planning a return visit.

Site 23 has a beautiful view of the river and is nicely maintained, as are the other sites. The firewood is easily accessible and inexpensive. My husband says the bathroom was immaculate for the non-flushing type. The new fire pits are a nice addition, and have an adjustable ledge to cook on. Huckleberry is one of our favorite BLM campgrounds.
