Stolle Meadows Cabin is praised for its beautiful scenery and lovely setting, making it a favorite for some visitors. However, several reviews highlight significant cleanliness issues, including a mouse infestation and poor water quality, which detracted from the experience. Despite its charm, guests advise caution regarding hygiene and safety.
Excellent cabin. Went to check out Vulcan Hot Springs but unfortunately discovered quite a few chiggers, who also discovered us. Couldn’t figure out why we were itchy, until we saw them and had cut our soak short. Trail Creek hot springs were excellent on the way out though!

This was the 4th time I've skied into Stolle Meadows to stay at the cabin and have always loved the cozy cabin and have loved skiing in for the exercise and beautiful scenery. The first three times I skied in was over 10 years ago. What has changed? 10 years ago, the road was a normal, snowy backcountry road and skier-friendly. Snowmobilers have destroyed the road going into Stolle, making it a grueling, if not impossible ski-in. It is now a single-use road for only snowmobilers because they have created such huge ruts and bumps to ski over for 6.5 mi! It would be great if there could be signage or something to keep one small part of the road in good condition for skiers.... to make it a multi-user area. At the very least, the forest service needs to warn skiers that the huge snowmobile bumps and ruts make the trip extremely challenging, and that it will take much longer than expected to ski in than normal.
