What Guests Are Saying
Mokins Bay Campground is a peaceful and secluded spot, praised for its cleanliness and friendly camp host. Many campers enjoyed the spacious and private sites, making it a great place for relaxation. However, some sites could use leveling, and noise from nearby campers during the night was a concern for a few visitors. Overall, it is considered a hidden gem worth revisiting.

The road to get there is paved but narrow, winding and slow. When we got there we found the moderate sloped (by Recreation.gov's description) driveway took four Links blocks to level our 8 ft. Pop-up front to back. The campsite was somewhat overgrown but it appeared that it had been trimmed up somewhat but could use a little more attention. There was an open spot where a tent could possibly be pitched but it was unlevel and very bumpy with tree roots from one end to the other. It was, although, pretty private and more secluded than others in the campground. The picnic table was very old and needs to be redone totally with new lumber as it had many decayed boards and one was cracked and broken. All in all we actually enjoyed our stay and although we probably won't return often, we're not opposed to going back at a later date.

Campsite 9 where we stayed needs to be leveled out for a tent space. Also, the canopy above the fire pit needs to be thinned out as there are too many low hanging branches above the fire pit. Either have a garbage can at all 16 spots or post signs that advise campers to be sure that all garbage goes in the cans and NOT left outside of the containers. We fixed a potential problem with someone leaving their trash out side of the container. This is an easy way to attract animals from raccoons to bears.

Great spot away from crowds on a busy lake. Helpful and friendly camp host.
