Spent 5 days at Graham Cabin . Very serene and isolated. Fishing was good. There must have been a painting crew staying there previously as there was garbage let in a trash bag in the kitchen area. We took it with us when leaving . Other than than that we totally enjoyed our week . Saw several bears . This year we are considering renting cabin near Greys River in Wyoming. My brother-in-laws and I are in our 70's and quite enjoy staying in a cabin and not in a tent with sleeping bags. Quite comfortable and next time want to upgrade to a place with power and plumbing. Guess you could say we are spoiled and like our creature comforts now-a-days.

Graham Cabin is 53 miles northeast of Idaho City. From Idaho City, take Highway 21 for 18 miles to Crooked River-Little Owl Road #384. Turn left and stay on Road #384
for 4 miles to Pikes Fork Road #312. Turn right and stay on Road #312 for 26 miles. There are only 2 major road intersections on Road #312; just keep bearing right and
follow the directional signs.
Vehicle access to the area is generally limited from mid-July to the beginning of October due to high elevation snow. The road is extremely rocky and rutted and has
steep sections; you also have to ford the river. Only high clearance 4-wheel drive vehicles are recommended. Plan on a minimum 3-hour trip from Idaho City to the cabin.
Guests arriving on horseback can either ride horses the last 10 miles of Road #312 or ride the 6-mile Horse Heaven Trail from Road # 327 (just beyond Deer Park).
The nearest major road is Highway 21, which is approximately 18 miles from Idaho City. There is no interstate or freeway access within 25 miles of Graham Cabin.

Policies & Rules
General
- The cabin code will be sent via email. If you haven't received the code before your reservation, please contact the Idaho City Ranger District at (208) 392-6681 24-48 hours in advance.
- Potable water is not available; bring drinking water or a water filter
- The provisions in the cabin are for emergency situations; do not use them unless absolutely necessary
- Livestock is permitted at Graham Cabin
- The airstrip is generally free of snow from late May until the beginning of October; use appropriate landing precautions for this backcountry airstrip
- A 4x4 vehicle with high clearence is recommended.
- Bears occasionally are seen in the area. Please practice bear-safe camping and keep the outside of the cabin free from trash and food.
- Guests should be aware that there is a risk of exposure to hantavirus when visiting remote cabins.
- Don't Move Firewood: Help prevent the spread of tree-killing pests in our national forests by obtaining firewood near your destination and burning it on-site. For more information visit dontmovefirewood.org.
