Nice campground near time. I've heard it was overrun with kids riding bikes around the loop, but this was my second visit and so far I haven't seen too much of that behavior. There are some nice trails leading out from the campground. There was water (thank you) and TP and trash which makes life a bit easier.

Lovely campground, large spaces, quiet campers. Lovely pine scented woods and vault toilets that are mini-log cabins. 2 mi from all services in quaint western, gold mining/hot springs town of Idaho City. One hour from Boise on beautiful winding highway.

Beautiful campground. The bathrooms are fairly clean and there are a few nice walking/hiking paths nearby.
We had some noise problems with some of the other campers and couldn’t find the camp host.

I hiked up from Whoop-'em Up parking lot, about 17 mi north. I had the trail to myself. It was hot but scenic, with one little picturesque creek at the start of the trail.
Bring an umbrella or a popup for site 009. It's the sunniest one.

Very quiet and out-of-the-way – about a mile or so off the main road that goes up to Idaho city. Very well spaced campsites; above 75% shaded. Very clean facility

Nice small campground up above the river. Not buggy during our visit. Host keeps the place nice and clean.

This is close to Boise making it possible for me and the kids to come up and my husband meet us after work. We love the trails, fresh air, walk to the river and wade in cool water. We enjoy going to Idaho City to Sarsaparilla Ice Cream Parlor, then walk up and down the historic streets. I’m so glad the bridge was rebuilt and everything was even prettier after the 2 years of growth with nobody there to wear down all the bushes. I hope we all take better care of our forests.

Close to Boise, very close to Idaho City in case we forgot any groceries, etc. Very convenient location! We couldn't find a spot large enough for our truck & trailer so rented two spots - one for the truck, one for the trailer. Nice, clean restrooms. Good T-Mobile coverage which I think was the only carrier with any service up there.

Very relaxing day and the wind was blowing just enough that you could hear it. The campground was almost full but no problems and a quiet night.

From Boise, take State Highway 21 north for 36 mi. Campground access road is located on the east side of the road, between mileposts 36 and 37. Turn right and travel a quarter-mile to the campground.
The campground is accessible via State Highway 21, which is approximately 36 miles north of Boise.
