Buffalo (Idaho)

Nice campground on Buffalo River. Loop A and B were too close to main highway and thus loud during heavy traffic times. We had an electric and water site on loop B that were very clean when we arrived. Sites were very large and we didn't feel like we were on top of the site next to us. Bathrooms were pit toilets but frankly were the cleanest I have ever seen. Not even a fly in them and Host put down carpet mats to make it even nicer. The host was fantastic and tried to accommodate some last-minute changes we had. The river was nice AND close to the sites. We floated the slow-moving river a couple of times (500 yards) and it was quite refreshing. Had a few mountain bike rides to the dam across the highway and the Silverhawk housing area. Spot was close to Macks Inn where we took the epic 5-mile float down the snake river. Very slow moving and smooth. Highly recommended for a great 2 1/2-hour tour. Overall, the site was a 5-star rating but I gave it a 4 only because of the road noise ( the site could not be blamed for that but be aware if you camp there)

Most Excellent staff. I had some personal issues and asked for assistance from the Host and other team members. They went up and above to ensure that my father and I were taking care of. This was his 88th Birthday gift, to camp again in Island Park. These folks were exceptional! Thank you.

All in all a nice experience. Other users should know that Site C11 and C5 are double camper units. We were in C11. Two trailer campers can be parked side by side. Note that two trailers with opposing slides on each side of the camper may get a little tight. In addition, there is only one electrical pedestal and it has 50A, 30A and 15A outlets. One of our campers used the 50A and the other used the 30A without issue. The host was visible and kept the campsites clean, bathrooms were clean and well kept. C11 is up against the river which is really nice for fishing and if you float the river you can take out right at your campsite. The downside is that some of your neighbors may do the same and pass through the C11 campsite. We didn't mind as the neighbors apologized but it was fine and friendly. The only downside is you can hear US HWY 20 traffic from the C11 campsite. Please remember this is bear country and lock up bear attractants. Be bear aware...

I love Island Park. This camp ground is so beautiful.

Buffalo is a quiet campground that is very well kept.

Need a little more control during quiet times. A lot of campers did not honor quiet hours

Several hikes in the area. Moose in Campground area

F08 wonderful site with a path to the river. However the pad is narrow with a significant step down to dirt. the slope to the table and fire pit is somewhat steep.
