Very clean and quiet. Nice hiking trails. Hose bibs available to fill your tanks but none at each site. We were there the week after Labor Day and the campground was almost empty. Loved it.

Lots of trees, nice camp site with a large tent pad if needed. Restrooms were clean and well stocked. The camp host was awesome! She was very friendly and helpful. Would recommend staying here when visiting the Island Park area.

Helen, camp host, was a gem. in most campgrounds facilities were dated but this lady keeps them spotlessly clean. It seems I saw her driving by hourly to check on the bathrooms. She goes out of her way to make campers comfortable and graciously addressed any questions we had. Camp spaces were not too crowded and all was quiet (which I understand can vary with different groups). River was very murky but the website was clear that was to be expected in September. Would return!

It’s off the main highway, so it stays pretty quiet.
There are no spots with power though.

The campground host, Helen, did an outstanding job of making our stay smooth and comfortable. The restrooms were always spotless and the campground was clean and well kept.
It is close to the highway so there is a bit of road noise and the cell phone coverage is very limited. We could place and receive calls and text messages but email and FB was impossible. We were in the woods to get away from it all so this was not a big deal for us.
The sites are spaced far enough apart so that you don't feel cramped by neighbors and they are all level with fire pits and tent spaces.
This is the second time we've stayed at McCrae CG and we will be back again.
