What Guests Are Saying

O'Hara campground offers a beautiful and peaceful setting, enhanced by cedar trees and proximity to hiking trails and the Selway River. While there is no potable water on-site, visitors appreciate the clean environment and scenic views, with many returning for family outings. Some concerns were raised about facilities, including the need for a camp host and improvements to the water situation and bridge access, but overall, guests enjoyed their experiences.

We have camped at O’Hara for years. The camp host they had there this year was kind of ridiculous really. The signs on the bulletin board clearly said quiet time was from 10 PM to 6 AM. However, they told us it was from 8 AM to 8 PM. And we were required to keep our generators off. We can even deal with the “no water” since we have a camper and bring our own. But to charge $14 a night and then not have all the enmities, is kind of ridiculous. The selway river, however was amazing and beautiful.
Our forest service employees need to really work on the campgrounds. They are really not doing well. Seems if something breaks or quits working they just hang a sign and never fix it. Really a shame.

There is no water in the campground. This is dry camping in a paved spot. Some of the spots can be difficult to get into because of some being tight to get into. There is a lot of hiking in the area, OHV trails, rafting, fishing, and swimming.

We were in site 21. Beautiful and lush. The sites by the river have river access paths, otherwise you need to drive to get down to the river. Well kept area. Saw some garter snakes and a rubber boa.

The setting is amazing at O'hara, however, with no water and no garbage service (the bins were overfilled), it only rates average. In addition, the bridge to access the campground needs to be refurbished sooner than later.
