What Guests Are Saying
O'Hara campground offers a beautiful and peaceful setting, enhanced by cedar trees and proximity to hiking trails and the Selway River. While there is no potable water on-site, visitors appreciate the clean environment and scenic views, with many returning for family outings. Some concerns were raised about facilities, including the need for a camp host and improvements to the water situation and bridge access, but overall, guests enjoyed their experiences.

There was no water available at the camp ground. Upon arrival the garbage dumpster was overflowing and wasn’t picked up until Thur so almost a full week of garbage smell and potential for animals in the campground. The site has garbage in it and I picked up the trash left behind by others. Very sad that this lovely campground hasn’t seen improvements except for new bathrooms in the 8 years I have been coming.

We stayed at campsites 13 and 30 during our stay. Both were very nice with river access.

Free of litter. Rangers came through every day. Garbage was taken care of adequately.
I wish there was a section for vehicles with generators at one end and one end for tents and trailers.
Unfortunately the Selway was chocolate brown flowing this year so we will be back next year to check it out for clear water!!

I have camped at Ohara Campground for 52 years. This is probably the worst I have ever seen this campground in. Garbage receptacles not emptied and overflowing to the point of being strewn all over the area. No water available at the campground and obviously no mention of that when the reservations were made. I was told by park rangers that this has been an issue for two years now. I did have reservations for this same campground in 2022, but because of a massive rockslide, was unable to camp last year and my reservation $$'s were returned. We have gone as a family outing as I said for 52 years. We returned this year as a family to honor my husband and childrens father as he passed just 4 years ago. If he were still alive he would have been very disappointed as we were. No camp host, seemes no one cares!!!!!!!

Unfortunately there was no campground host as there has been previously so routine maintenance of the facility was somewhat neglected. The water system has been down now for going on two years and there doesn't seem to be much effort on the part of the Forest Service to address this...the same is true of the dump station at the Fenn Ranger Station. Not sure what's going on but it shouldn't be a funding issues as the Reinvent America act recently passed included lots of money for the Forest Service to address and remedy issues like this.. It's still a beautiful campground in a nice location. I hope there's a turn around in there near future
