Ohara

This is a beautiful and peaceful campground. Know that there is no water so you need to haul in. Not a big deal but something you have to deal with.

The cedar trees, nearby hiking trail & rock-lined soaking area in the river--if you have a campsite adjacent to river, and campsites were nice. It was 10 degrees cooler and much less smoky than Boise in the Treasure Valley. We only saw one fish jump in the river but there are a several small creeks dumping into the Selway River which might be fished.

Clean and awesome

We love O'Hara. We camp there a couple times every summer. My granddaughter really enjoys the man made pool along the Selway. The only problem I have is there is no potable water available at the campsite. I have a Class C RV and it's not feasible to get water at Johnson Bar. Now that we are being charged $10 to dump our black/gray water they should get that fixed.

Very nice this year. Although there is not a camp host. There is a construction crew rebuilding the bridge over O’Hara Creek. The road access up the creek will be closed until the project is completed. There also is no water in the camp, so be prepared.

The camp grounds are poorly taken care of and the price is to high considering there is no water

We always enjoy this place. For most of our stay it wasn't very busy and therefore quiet.

This campground is a destination for our annual family outing and has been for years. It is a primitive camp spot for sure. Having the water system fixed would be nice as would a camp host. If the campgrounds needed one thing that wouldn't cost them any money it would be overflow parking, Many of the sites aren't big enough if you have trailers, extra cars/trucks, etc. The day use area directly across the river from the bridge should have a section designated as over flow parking on the East side. Another thing to be aware of are the amount of trail and road closures in the area. Off road recreation is limited due to the blow-down caused by the hurricane force winds last winter. The first bridge over O'hara creek is being replaced and that road is closed until late Sept. The only road open to allow access to this side of the mountain range is from the Swiftwater road. The last mile or more of road to Idaho Point was closed due to blow-down.

It’s disappointing that they haven’t fixed the water situation. It was surprising to see the bridge construction going on. We missed 4 wheeling up Ohara Creek but we still had good family time.
