Albeni Cove has been a family favorite for swimming for many years but this was the first time we’ve camped there. Everything was ready upon check-in, friendly hosts came right down to give instructions, and restrooms were fairly clean throughout our stay. Our only issue was that our site (#2) really isn’t built for longer RVs despite it being listed on Recreation.gov as good for RVs up to 40ft. The main issue is that sites 1 and 2 share the same “pull through,” but unless you both arrive and leave at the same time, it’s difficult to get into Site 2. Backing in (if you can with the narrow entry and sharper turn) places your door on the wrong side. Going in from the front (easiest option) means you will be blocked in once someone occupies Site 1. With our 31ft trailer we were struggling to back in and therefore opted to drive the wrong way on the one-way road to get to site 2 (which is also only doable while no one is in site 1). Host was helpful in giving us suggestions for getting into the site but did say she was hoping Recreation.gov would be changing the listing for the site’s size limit. We would suggest that as well.

Our family vacation was spent at Albeni Cove with 18 of us present. What a wonderful, safe place for kids to swim, fish, play, explore. The adults had just as much fun! Thank you for providing a clean, inexpensive, safe area for families and friends to gather! The camp hosts were active, polite, and helpful!
