The Red Ives Cabin is a fantastic getaway with amazing fishing and essential amenities like a propane fireplace and a full kitchen. Forty miles from the nearest towns and you have a propane fireplace, a full kitchen, hot water, and a bathroom with a flush toilet and shower. Amazing. Better than advertised. Do bring lanterns. The brighter the better.

We had a wonderful time! There was significantly more traffic in the area than we have experienced ever before, starting very early in the morning (3:30 am) which distracts from the cabins serenity. Thank you for making tge cabin available.

Have been going to the cabin for about 10 years now. Couple of things I'd suggest that need to be addressed. 1) The shower/tub needs upgrading. Tiles are falling off the walls and is a little gross. 2) The sink faucet in the bathroom has been broken for years.
Other than that it's a great place to go and the fishing can be specular.

From St. Maries, Idaho: Follow paved Forest Highway 50 (St. Joe River Rd) 47 miles to Avery. Continue 29 more miles along FH-50 to the Red Ives Road #218. Turn right (south) on road #218 and travel 10 miles upstream to the Red Ives Ranger Station. The Red Ives Road is a narrow One-lane road with turn-outs.
The nearest major road is US Highway 95, which is approximately 20 miles to the east of Red Ives Cabin.

85 mi drive to downtown Saint Maries (about 2 hr 6 min)

- Please call the Forest Service office in Avery @ 208-245-6200 to receive access code to the cabin. Have reservation confirmation number ready for varification when calling to receive access code.
- Absolutely no pets or livestock. Service animals excepted.
